Hungry Howie's Pizza — Restaurant in Big Rapids

I go in there with my 6 year old daughter to get a free personal achievement pizza for her and her brother that I had a coupon for. The guy Austin, says alrigh your name and it be 15-20 mins. Alright cool we waiting but as we waiting after 3 lady's had placed their order I noticed 2 pizza boxes in their oven, I'm thinking their web orders. Another lady comes in for a web order gives her name the guy (Austin) looks right at the slip with the 2 boxes says no not ready yet, lady waits about 5 minutes then he comes out with her order. So I'm being patient thinking their busy and this guy seems overwhelmed and not with it that after 10 more minutes im standing up he then happens to ask me my name and sure enough after waiting extra 15 mins for nothing those 2 boxes were mine. Then he tries charging me when I clearly brought in the coupons so he takes the pizza and sits there trying to figure out the transaction. At this point I'm beyond frustrated like are you serious I had to wait and waste gas for NOTHING!! I asked him for the manager and said I was going to let them know what happened and how unprofessional and rude this service/,transaction was and he says I am the manager!! WHHHHAAATTT??! I could expect this from a worker but manager and this how you operate? Then I heard he needed like 8 pizzas in 20 minutes but couldn't let me know my 2 little personal 1 topping pizzas were done? I'm Extra mad because I had a time limit with my kids as they had to go to their moms, I didn't expect nor should it have taken soo long!!!

The Experience: Pretty disappointed. First off, I ordered online and waited till the online "Howie Tracker" said my order was ready. Fully expecting that like other pizza restaurants in town it was a "LIVE" tracker.. But no. Came inside the place was pretty busy but understandable it was a Friday night. Told the employee that I was here to pickup my online order. The employee could not find it and looked up the order. "Sorry, but it won't be ready for another 20 minutes." I was confused isn't the online tracker a live tracker? "No, sorry because we had so many orders the tracker isn't working." Soo, basically don't trust the online tracker. If its a friday or a weekend expect it to take an hour for them to make your pizza. I waited 45 minutes for the pizza to be "done" on the tracker, plus an extra roughly 10 minutes waiting.

The Pizza: The end result... sub-par pizza, the crust flavor which I specified wasn't on the pizza, the pizza was overly greasy, for some reason the mild peppers that were on it were very salty. Basically, it is a slightly better version of Little Caesars Pizza since it did have some decent flavor and the cheese was decent.

The Take Aways: You will eventually get pizza...after an hour. Or more..maybe because you won't know when it's actually ready. It will be slightly better than Little Caesars. Really expensive unless using coupon. I paid $7.99+tax for a large 2 topping. Pay $7.99+taxes at Domino's in town for a far better...

🚨 UPDATE 🚨 08/31/2021 Went back a couple days ago while in town. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with impatience, but we noticed only one guy, Kyle as the receipt says, working. So we thought he might just be over worked. We get it. But it continued.. We have only been here twice, ever. So I ordered stuffed cheese sticks. Kyle says just cheese very quickly and impatiently so I quickly just said yeah, but continued looking at the menu and realized I could out more in the stuffed cheese sticks. So I asked for bacon too. Kyle says "yeah that why I asked if if was just cheese." I apologized. We continued to order and it seemed like every time we ordered something new, he'd either sigh SUPER loud, or he was grabbing onto the counter super dramatically like he was frustrated, or kept on adjusting his hat very roughly and noticably, like he was annoyed. We just got done working on a house, we were just hungry, man! I could understand if we walked in right at closing, but sign says they close at 10, our receipt shows 8:31pm...
