Alberto’s is a local favorite, and I can see why. I ordered the combo fajita plate with shrimp and chicken, and while the chicken and shrimp were good, the beans and rice didn’t quite hit the mark for me—I prefer my beans with Mexican cheese, and the rice lacked a bit of flavor. I also tried my colleague’s Tex Mex egg rolls, which were good, but I wasn’t a fan of the sweet chili sauce; I think a Southwest sour cream sauce would have been a better match. Their pico de gallo and guacamole seems store bought and not freshly made. I didn’t like the guacamole and pico in the same little bowl. The ambiance at Alberto’s is great, with plenty of TVs positioned so you can catch a game from just about anywhere. What really stood out, though, was the service. My server and a few other staff members worked seamlessly as a team to ensure I had everything I needed. My lemonade was constantly refilled to the point where I had to let them know I was done. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

The new place on Gregg underwent a pretty nice update on the outside and inside. However, it is hot on the inside so either avoid until its fixed or get a cold beer. Service was slow and uneven but this visit occurred while they are still working out the kinks on owning a large restaurant. We received our Queso before we had chips. Queso was luke warm before we had chips and so on. Fajitas plate was pretty good. Tender meat loaded with grilled vegetables made up of 6 slices of meat. I can tell on a future visit this will still be a good option when the cooks hold back on the char flavor. However, the fajita plate doesn't come with cheese or sourcream. We will visit again but will wait a week or so.

I was surprised at my first visit. I was expecting to be able to rave about this restaurant. The Mexican egg rolls were good it's a dressed up taquito. The beef fajitas was over cooked to much burnt areas and bland beyond the burnt flavor. The beans are way too watered down. The rice was dried out and hard. The tamale dough was too thick and dried out. I tried other things, too, but I'm sorry I only had one thing positive to say about the food. The tip calculated amount shown on the receipt is calculated with taxes. The service was good, friendly people serving not to friendly food. My first visit will be my only visit. I won't even try breakfast after that.

First time in Big Spring, not familiar with the area at all. My family and I were hungry, decided on Mexican food, and my nose lead me there. Wonderful atmosphere, greeted by the waiter, and asked if we could order to go, he assured me that we could, so we did. We noticed that this was the spot, more people were coming in being seated and ordering. Food started coming out not ours, no problem, more food started coming out(not ours). One of the staff questioned the waiter weating the Patriots jersey (Eldeman) about our order. After sitting there for nearly an hour and people that came in after us eating and getting full.....I decided to get a refund, so I asked the waiter(who didn't seem too compliant with my request) he went on to say 5 more mins, I explained that I have traveled from the Houston area, and I am tired and am no longer interested in waiting after people that came in after me have eaten and left as well as others have gotten their orders. He refunded me finally. Another waiter gave us our order free of charge seeing we waited all that time. Mind you it wasn't a special gluten free type order or nothing(1 beef fajita taco, 1 beef fajita burrito, an order supreme beef fajita nachos, and an order of supreme chicken fajita nachos) which was $39 and some change and I gave a $5.00 tip for a to go order. It was really disappointing. But the other two staff members were some what bright spots, and the food tasted okay......I didn't really have an appetite after all that, but my children were satisfied. So it was what it was. I won't go...

I am not sure I believe the great 5 star reviews this place has so I’m gonna leave a real one. My family and I stopped in here for lunch today and were so disappointed. We have not been here in a while due to family members moving away from Big Spring and passing away, but it has always been a favorite of ours for many years. That is no longer the case after our experience today.

Upon walking in, we were abruptly asked to wait out in the hallway (lobby) until she got our table put together for the 5 of us. Right off the bat they seemed totally inconvenienced and annoyed that we stepped foot in their restaurant. The young girl with her hair in a clip that brought us our chips and dip was the friendliest out of them all. Girl that brought us our drinks didn’t crack a smile or anything. She acted annoyed that she even had to take our drink order in the first place. The waitress slammed our scalding hot plates down and walked away. The fly issue needs to be addressed. We had to swat away flies the entire time we ate which was also right by the kitchen door. Food was not that great, definitely not as good as we remember it being in the past. Enchilada sauce was so thick, queso tastes like Mayo, and the rice and beans taste like they are boxed/canned. I also believe it is utterly ridiculous and greedy to charge $0.50 for a glass of water!!

This may just be our opinion and our experience, but we will not be back to...

It was my husband and I first time there. We got alcohol beverages, which was a Budweiser and a mimosa. I don’t know how they prep the mimosa but it did not taste like one. We ordered 2 appetizers, the queso blanco w/beef and bacon jalapeño peppers but we didn’t get a chance to taste the bacon jalapeño peppers due to seeing a roach in the dinning area, coming from another table. When I seen that, I stopped eating the first appetizer and told my husband, we got to go. I’ve been to many authentic Mexican restaurants and never have I seen a roach or a bug but this generic so called Mexican restaurant is ridiculous. Such a disappointment. We rarely go out to eat but we figured we’d try this one but it’s a no go. On top of that, I pointed at the roach to show my husband and it was going towards another gentleman and he looked down and seen it and killed it and then told the young waitress and all she said and reacted as eww and walks off slowly. WOW, such an amazing job representing the place...
