We were in Biloxi for three days and had every meal at The Bayview Cafe. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. Tables are smartly spaced providing ample movement for patrons and staff in and around tables. Our first night spoiled us. Our waiter was Brendan (not sure if the spelling is correct), but he was EXCELLENT. He treated us like we were his only table. He was prompt, professional, and friendly service personified. There were two menus: Breakfast and All Day. The All Day menu is a bit pricey. You will not find much under 15 dollars. The Breakfast Menu is not as expensive, but it can get expensive quickly with a la carte dining. During our stay we tried the oyster and grits, Mahi Mahi with grits, boudin balls, Back Bay Omlete, beignets, gumbo, and the seafood platter. The seafood platter doesn't have a set price, so it varies depending on the market price. On our visit the platter waa 35 dollars, so be prepared for the fluctuation in price. There was a meal called, Ole Reliable, and it is for those who are HUGE fans of breakfast. It appeared on both the Breakfast and All Day menus. All of our selections were excellent. Some items were served only during breakfast, so be sure to check out both menus. Breakfast is served from 7 to 11 am. I am not sure why that isn't posted...ANYWHERE! The restaurant is opened until 11 p.m. Sunday - Thursday and on Friday and Saturday until 1 a.m. The biggest drawback was the limited staff. However, that's an issue around the country when it comes to the service and retail industries. I think the Bayview Cafe staff did a great job working with who they had, and they had some great people. I will definitely go back to dine on my next visit to the...
Read moreThis was my second time eating at the bay view, the first time we had a bad experience (I'll leave those details out) with them and we said we would never be back. But, we decided to try once again, this time since it was after certain hours they only offered a smaller menu selection. We didn't want much so my boyfriend ordered the "seafood" gumbo which came with rice, we asked for the rice on the side needless to say he ended up with more of a sausage gumbo (we never found any seafood) then seafood and the rice looked and tasted like it had been left out and dried up. I myself ordered a patty melt plain with french fries with the patty melt on a different bun, when I received the melt it had everything on it and was on the regular rye bread instead of what I requested, they remade it with the right bun the second time, but forgot to make it (plain). I showed the waiter he apologized and asked if there was anything else he could get me, I said no thanks I'm not that hungry any more, so he brings out our bill and the patty melt was still on there! I politely asked to speak with a manager, and she is the only reason I'm giving the place 3 stars, because she went above and beyond not only did she void our whole check, but also gave us a free meal and dessert. We might try once again when their more established and familiar with everything. (It's only been opened a...
Read moreWe came to eat here as a last minute decision before a show since our restaurant of choice down the road had a long wait. I was sat down immediately, and then had such a wonderful waiter named Brandon for our dinner service. My boyfriend was trying to parking his truck while I went in to grab us a table, and Brandon had brought our drinks out right away. He also then just keep checking on me to make sure I was okay since it was taking longer then the few minutes anticipated for him to park. When Brandon checked on me another time while making his rounds, I thanked him again and let him know my boyfriend was having issues finding parking for his lifted truck but shouldn't be much longer, and Brandon instantly gave me advice on where to tell him to park. Welp at this moment my boyfriend was walking up behind him to sit at the table, but that was so kind of Brandon to offer that advice. We also went with his entree recommendation of Chicken Biloxi, which us folks from New Orleans was a little hesitant to try. WHOA... THAT DISH DID NOT MISS! It was so flavorful and delicious. We made sure to let Brandon know that his recommendation was spot on. We enjoyed the food but especially the service there. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting in the area, and thanks Brandon for wonderful...
