I ordered the gyro sandwich today which was very good, in fact, my husband had just asked me how my gyro was and I told him it was delicious. Unfortunately, I have many allergies and bring my own filtered water, DF sauce and other items that are dairy-free (which I bring to most restaurants, if I want to get anything that I can eat without causing a violent, explosive reaction). Last time I was in, I was told there were no cucumbers, so I brought those this time too anticipating the gyro and added it to my sandwich. I also had my own dairy-free coffee creamer. The waitress did not like that I brought in my own stuff and told me it was illegal. When I reacted she loudly scolded me in front of the entire restaurant that to bring in outside food was "against the law" - which it isn't {It would be against the law if I were to share my food with or sell my food to others in the room}. My husband loves diners has been coming here for the last two months and spent around $300 on his and his guests meals. Obviously he likes and can eat the food as prepared, but we were both thrown out of the restaurant today and ordered not to return. So, the food, as prepared and as 'fixed by me' was a definite 5. Service wasn't service.
UPDATE
Your response makes you sound like the most kind, agreeable person in the world instead of being the agitator that loudly continued to escalate the situation out front and in the back with your husband.
I'm glad that most people can eat what is served to them. I can't. Serve me dairy and I'll explode in violent coughing (your patrons would love that). Grill oil causes my tummy to twist and double up. There is precious little on your menu that I can eat. I got so excited last week when I saw that there was a pita sandwich, and I figured that if I'd substitute my DF cheese and add some cucumber for the beloved tzatziki sauce, I could enjoy a meal out with my husband. (I tried last week but the Italian beef had the grill oil put on it anyways and I reacted very badly)
You loudly accused me in hearing of the entire room of breaking the law. I responded that there was no law. You countered with, âItâs illegal to bring in outside food.â To which I responded again, âThere is no law.â Iâm sure since that day you have researched and found out that there IS no law. There are rules, policies and regulations, but no law.
Your response says I had a picnic basket. I had a small paper bag from a jewelry store. I did not bring feta cheese. I had a DF spread that did not have cucumber in it, so I brought five cuke slices. When putting this together, I remembered that there was no cuke the week before, so I threw in 3 grape tomatoes and an 8th of an onion â just in case those werenât available too. These were all in one container, the spread in another and some DF coffee creamer in a small jar.
You and your husband had already banned me for arguing with you about the âlawâ when I reacted badly with a one-time (not multiple time) name calling which I instantly regretted, for which I do apologize.

The pita melt was outstanding. The cheese was ridiculously good. Not sure what it is but need to get some for home. The Turkey BLT had nice crispy bacon, fresh tomatoes and lettuce and thick cut pieces of turkey breast.
We eat here at least weekly and have never had a bad meal. Service is great too. Misti, Mikalah, and Cheryl always make you...
