Summary: Poor service from staff Under AND overcooked food Long wait times

Detailed: Went in for a brunch with the wife. We waited for a few minutes by the front desk, until we were told by a nearby waitress (who barely acknowledged us) to sit wherever we liked.

Once we found a suitable table by a window, we waited for 30 minutes. In that time, we never acknowledged, had to find our own menus from the front of the restaurant and wave down a waitress to serve us ( who happened to serve other guests right beside us and who came in AFTER us).

After getting a waitress's attention, we asked for both food and drink from the menu. She didn't offer or recite any drinks options and almost seemed surprised when we asked for drinks.

I ordered a breakfast steak, medium well, and my wife ordered a chili omelette. After another half hour, the food finally came. Coffee was warm at best, steak was overcooked, dry and hard, and my wife's omelette was undercooked and raw and very runny.

While I was disappointed with my steak, I decided not to bring it up as flagging down a waitress and waiting for a whole new steak didn't seem worth the time. We notified the waitress that the omelette was an issue, that we didn't have time to wait for a new one and upon hearing this, the waitress said she'd remove it from our order. My wife ate the sides that came with her meal, leaving the main entree entirely intact.

At checkout, we walked back to the front desk, and we're checked out. Our waitress mentioned to another waitress that was checking us out, that we have have a discount applied. Turns out, they didn't remove the entree from our ticket ( even after I explicitly mentioned the omelette should not have been charged) and only gave us $3.00 off from my wife's $12.75 meal ( so $10 for a hash brown and a small side scone).

All in all, the food has potential, but the service and food cooking issues were awful... I won't ever visit or recommend this...

Don’t waste your time or money at this place. Just keep on driving! There are way better breakfast spots to eat at. When you walk in the door you have no clue that you are suppose to seat yourself. Once seated it’s a guessing game of what waitress will help you. If you’re lucky someone will take your order. A table walked out after we ordered and all the waitress said was “yeah, we’re busy and under staffed” and could have cared less that the table was leaving. I swear one of the younger waitresses was on the verge of tears she was so overwhelmed. Another table next to us couldn’t get attention that they needed silverware and finally asked the table next to them to have their extra on the table. Our food finally came and tasted like a burnt over greased grill. We then waited quite awhile for our check and finally just put cash on the table and let a different waitress know we were leaving. I know this restaurant is a staple in this small town (it was even recommended to us) but! It is not managed well at all. If you are understaffed you need to have a wait list for seating. If you let customers sit and then don’t serve them it looks bad on you! If you can’t get help, you need to pay your help more. Basics of business! Also, Floors were gross and...

Wow. Just wow. I walked in here remembering the childhood nostalgia aspect to it being local, and was met with many surprises, many unpleasant. The restaurant was only half full, however every table was still dirty. I asked for them to clean a table, and they begrudgingly did so. Afterwards we were handed menus, but our orders were not taken for another 15 minutes. we placed our orders, and waited yet another 45 minutes for our food, as tables and people they knew were getting served 10 minutes into sitting down, and being served before us. When we asked about our food, they got very pissy with us, and brought out a well done steak (i asked for medium rare) a medium egg (i asked for overeasy) and two cold biscuits, when my order was supposed to come with hashbrowns. And the icing on the cake, after my review i got violent food poisoning, currently looking into who to report this to. I was astonished at how much they let that place go, and will never step foot inside of this establishment again. To the family that owns Martha's;...

My dad and I had breakfast at Martha’s Cafe, and the food was really good. When we arrived, all the tables were full, and we were unsure if we should seat ourselves at the bar or wait to be seated. After wandering around the restaurant for a minute, we found the cashiers counter (in the middle of the room behind a wall—weird spot for it). A waitress behind the bar saw us wandering around and asked us to sit wherever we wanted too. Some directional signs and a sign telling you to seat yourself would be helpful for new customers. Other than that, it was a good experience. You can tell this is a local favorite, the staff and customers seemed to know each other and their was a lot of friendly banter going on. Also, Martha’s was the only locally owned place we could find that was open on Sunday.
