Anyone else see the tacos & burritos banners along 65 near the KFC and wondered, what's the story there??
You're about to find out 😉
It's so easy to miss...
We are always seeking great Mexican food, so we followed the banners and our stomachs here for lunch today not knowing what to expect, and WOW... Amazing food!!! MUST TRY!
This is a family owned business, mom is the chef, from Zacatecas, Mex. The restaurant name definitely hides the fact that they make (all in house), incredible tacos, frijoles, burritos, quesadillas, tortas y más y más!
Also for anyone with a sweet tooth... They have a huge selection of ice cream and of course, authentic Mexican popsicles. 😋.... ALL. MADE. BY. HAND. ON. SITE!
Notes:
The interior is VERY colorful in a fairly typical, modern, south-of-the-border style. For Midwestern sensibilities, it's different, but it's cool (and spotlessly clean!)
To get there, pretend you're going to KFC. Pull in the lot and go AROUND KFC. Surprise! Michaocana is in the same building, which is most of the KFC building, actually 🤯 but they have absolutely zero visibility from anywhere.
Go eat there ASAP and get...
Read moreOverall it’s a nice place to go. Food and ice cream have been good each visit. They have a great variety of flavors. The environment is pleasant. I’m taking off stars because customer service is very important and it really lacks here. I’ve come 3x since they’ve opened and experienced the same thing each time - intense staring and nobody welcoming you. After a few awkward minutes someone will eventually ask if I’m ready to order or someone comes from around the corner to ask. My experience has been the same each time. It’s unusual. I returned because not many places are like this in the area, but I haven’t had the urge to return because of the awkward feeling. The best customer service I received was from a younger guy, the woman aren’t very welcoming. Reminds me of meeting a partners family for the first time and the females just stare you up and down judging. Hopefully it will improve and I’ll give it another chance. My daughter had the same experience and I see at least two other reviewers had the similar experiences. 5 stars once customer...
Read moreI recently visited La Michoacana Popsicle World, and while the atmosphere was cute, the overall experience was disappointing. My friend and I ordered tacos, and although the flavor was decent, the meat seemed to be not fresh, possibly preheated from a previous day. It left us feeling uneasy.
We also tried some of their popsicles, and unfortunately, the quality was nowhere near the standards of other La Michoacana locations in town. The popsicles started to melt and deform almost immediately after leaving the store, and by the time we got home (just a 3-minute drive), they were a mess.
The service was just okay. The staff didn’t speak English, which made it challenging to order, and the menu was very confusing to navigate. Overall, not the best experience, especially considering how much I enjoy other La...
