I visited Namaste for dinner shortly after I heard they were open. I read online that they opened before they planned to because so many people were asking or coming to their door. Knowing that they opened earlier than anticipated helps a lot.
I will certainly be back to try their food again. The food was not the best I've had, but was still good. It didn't have the spice level I requested or the depth of flavor I'm used to, but I think the food was off a bit due to how many people came in all at once and how unprepared the staff is yet. We ordered the goat curry, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. Next time I will try the samosas and a few things I saw others try in their reviews. I may try the same dinner entrée again though just to see how it is compared to the first time. It's clearly a family run restaurant and I have A LOT of grace for them just after opening and bringing a new style of dining establishment to Blaine. I think the food will improve to an excellent level once they have their routine down and can handle the dinner rush.
I ranked service high because you could tell they were really trying their best. The wait was long for the food and boxes. We could see from the very beginning though that it would be a long wait, so we felt very patient the whole way through our meal. Every new establishment is going to have some issues in the beginning and we were ok with that. Service was very friendly though and even though I'm not sure, I think they gave us a discount on our meal because they didn't charge as much as I anticipated it would be.
Atmosphere is ok. I like the quaint diner vibe of the place, but I'd love to hear Indian music playing. I think that will go a long way to improving the space. Just like any business though, improvements come with time! I will be sure to give it another try in a...

If you’re looking for exceptional Indian food in Blaine—or even all of Whatcom County—this restaurant is the place to go. It’s hands-down my favorite, and for good reason.
The menu features a variety of dishes that are not only delicious but also uniquely different from other places in the area. Their Chicken 65 is an absolute standout, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Every bite is a burst of flavor that feels both authentic and innovative. The rest of the menu doesn’t disappoint either, with each dish offering a homemade feel that’s hard to find elsewhere.
The service is another reason this spot shines. The staff is prompt, polite, and always welcoming, making every visit a pleasant experience. The restaurant itself is immaculately clean, adding to the overall comfort and enjoyment of the meal.
Beyond the incredible flavors and warm hospitality, the value is excellent. The portions are generous, and I often leave with leftovers that make for a fantastic second meal. It’s a rare combination of quality and quantity that feels truly satisfying.
Whether you’re a longtime fan of Indian cuisine or new to it, this restaurant is a must-visit. It’s a gem that I’m thrilled to have in Blaine, and I can’t recommend it...
Read moreThe Paneer appetizer was tender and flavorful, with well cooked bell peppers abs onions and seasoned slaw. The mint chutney dipping sauce brought out the flavors of the spices and made them dance in the palette.
The Samosa appetizer was crisp and fragrent with fresh peas and filling. The whole experience took me to India with the flavors and scent.
Butter Lamb was sweet and rich, with a complexity and authenticity that I have found lacking in most ethnic cuisine. The chunks of lamb are so tender as to fall apart as you spoon them up, leaving you with shreds is delicious, perfectly seasoned meat. The flavor built and grew with every bite and kept me in mind of comfort food that gave me nostalgia for a food I had never eaten before.
The second main dish we ordered was Aloo Gobi, a vegetarian curry with a complex and robust flavor. The spices brought out the natural.textures of the potato and cauliflower, while providing just enough heat to warm your inside. When combined with the mint chutney, I found myself flying to be heights of flavor.
All in all, I would rate Namaste at a 9/10, with only the internal ambiance and decor of the building holding it back from a 10. A must try for any fan of Indian cuisine, or one who has...
