Tonight was date night and we decided to try somewhere new, The Vault Wine bar, in Blaine.

This place was very easy to find, and had a ton of free parking.

Inside is 1 main open seating area, a couple private rooms off to the side that apeared to be for private tastings, and a large outside patio.

The outdoor patio where we choose to sit, had a ton of seating, shade umbrellas, and patio heaters. You could hear the live music just as well outside as inside.

A band playing jazzy, easy listening music played the entire time we were there.

We each ordered the red wine flight, as well as the brownie sundae. The pours were average. The selections on the flight were just ok, but neither of us would pick to reorder those specific ones. The brownie sundaes were amazing. HUGE portions, neither my husband or I could finish it. If you get this I recommend one to share.

We missed happy hour, 3-6 pm. But I would recommend hitting them up for the "PETITE CHEESE AND CHARCUTERIE BOARD WITH A BOTTLE OF RED, WHITE, ROSE OR SPARKLING WINE for $20" offered during happy hour.

Service was 5+ stars. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. They offered to adjust umbrellas on the porch, as well as lighting overhead heaters for the tables wanting them. The cherry on top was when warm blankets were brought out for everyone on the patio who wanted one.

If you are looking for a new date spot, somewhere to meet up with friends, or are a wino looking for a great new spot to drink alone, this is the place for you.

If you like this review, please give it a thumbs up and follow me for more epic reviews. Thanks.

Our first time, although we drive past it on occasion. Just off the main roads in Blaine you may not know it's there unless you go a block out of your way. New build, plenty of parking and seating. Placement of large windows and tables give it an upscale diner feel upon first glance. But live-edge type tables, mirrors, lighting, cloth napkins and stemware, and no tvs (music and general patron conversation made it so you could easily talk and be heard), and you feel you're in a nice restaurant. Service was prompt and friendly. Although we went for the Belgian beer tasting, the food was the star. None of the portions are huge but they are large and more than enough food for most. Hubby had seafood chowder which I tried and we both thought the flavours were great; he also had the burger sliders which he really enjoyed and said the meat was very good. But I wanted space for my first Ethiopian food: beef stew with carrots, peppers, onions, potatoes and wonderful spices. Not sure what Ethiopian is supposed to taste like but this had great flavour and a wonderful mouth feel; the bread was hearty and tasty and made the plate even better. I was happy. Belgian beer was good but not my style as they seemed too micro (maybe I'm not cultured enough although the cherry one was a good fresh surprise) and as a general statement Belgian really are my favorite beer. There is an outside patio which we'll have to try in the summer. Owner came outside as we left and asked for our feedback, as a...

Would have given 10 stars, but only 5 are available in the rating system. This place is FANTASTIC! They have a ridiculous number of wines to choose from in addition to FABULOUS food. The ambiance is is impressive — really like the raw-wood craftsmen tables. We ordered the flatbread (chef’s choice) which was sooooooo tasty along with an order of charcuterie to get things going. We tasted 6 bottles (skillfully chosen by our server “Mia”). We were given the “history” of our chosen wineries along with some inside-scoop on the winemakers themselves. We’ve done wine-tastings in many venues throughout Washington including Walla-Walla / Woodinville / Leavenworth / Chelan and others, this is such an impressive “local-experience” you don’t want to miss.

Update June 26th: stopped by for our anniversary dinner and you cannot believe how DELICIOUS the food was. Shout-out to “Zach-The-AMAZING” from “you’ve-got-to-kidding-me-Ville” here in Blaine. Seriously, do yourselves a favor and stop by to experience a HUGE assortment of wines and spirits — in addition to food that will not disappoint — I promise!

Cheers to Alan/Joni for putting this all together. We’re so blessed to have them so close...

We loved it! Stopped there tonight on our way back to Canada, and we are very impressed. The people are so warm and friendly, making us feel welcome. The wine list was impressive ,whether by the glass or bottle. We loved that they had half bottles of Prosecco! Perfect for 2. And the food, wow, loved the crab cakes, so fresh and delicious, I think the best Ive had. The beef dip and seafood chowder were also delicious and fresh, like homemade, even the side salad was good with pickled onions on top. The other cool thing was the live music, the band was talented and very friendly. Someone even made a guest appearance with a trumbone. A few people danced with was fun! The music was enjoyable but not too loud so we could still talk and visit. The decor is neat too, and tons of free parking, which we never find in White Rock. Already making plans to return with some friends!
