Palmar Mexican Restaurant & Seafood — Restaurant in Blaine

Just opened recently and we finally had a chance to stop by. Place was nicely decorated for Valentine's Day with ballons and hearts everywhere. Chipotle Cheese Dip was pretty runny. However, it was very tasty, smokey, spicy and excellent with our rice side dishes. The shrimp in my Camarones Al Mojo de Ajo were very large and PERFECTLY cooked. Delicious, garlicky sauce with mushroom and onions. Seafood is definitely their specialty! Octopus Tostada was an appetizer bargain. Extremely tender chunks of meat with a wonderful array of finely diced veggies and sliced avocado. Trust me...this is a great dish and don't be squeamish about Octopus! Partner's Beef Enchiladas Rojas had well seasoned, tender, and juicy shredded beef. Serving temperature just could have been higher. Very good guacamole side too. The Camarones Borrachos had an very tasty, spicy sauce however, the shrimp have shells, heads, and mud vein intact and were a pain to take care of before I could eat them. Would have been far more appetizing to have had them at least headless, split, and deveined before grilling. Nevertheless, they were quite tasty. Very happy to see they have their liquor license approved! Great variety of tequila and tap Mexican brews!...

This place is WAY Overrated! No decor, just cheap tables, no art work, just TV's & music latina. The food was not fresh, they got my order wrong, even tho it was on the menu and I pointed to it. My order was really like frozen food, and I asked for green chili sauce as well, and it was just cheap green salsa. The drink wasn't made right, and they kept taking it and putting more stuff I didn't want in it, and it was undrinkable. So, I asked for some accompaniments and those made up for the difference in price that they said they would take off for messing up my order. They charged $5.75 for a Coors light bottle although the menu states it was $4.99, (still overpriced for a cheap domestic beer). To top it off, if you pay by credit card, they slap on $2.99 no matter how much your bill is. Most business's charge a % of your total, and being the food was substandard, no frills, small portions, COLD food. We noticed the people who got seafood or were Hispanic got better treatment/food. I am tired of going to Blaine restaurants, because they are all like fast food whether designed that way or not. Cannot believe all the 4 & 5 star ratings this place got. Would...

Update: we took the food back because it was not what we ordered. NOONE SPEAKS ENGLISH! They even answer the phone in Spanish! Everyone was so rude! They told us that the manager would be in the next day and would take care of it. I called the next day and she screamed at me. She said that I ordered online so it’s my fault that we got pork - but she would not let me talk! She kept yelling at me in Spanish/English. The online description of the food does not include pork. I don’t speak Spanish, all I did was read the descriptions. The manager barely spoke English and I can’t stress how rude she was! She wouldn’t even let me get a word in. I will never come back to this place.

We do not eat pork, yet it ended up in our takeout food. The food also tastes strange and nasty. I tried calling to ask for a refund and they hung up on me. We won’t be back 😭.. we did not eat our food. My husband will eat anything - he took one bite and his stomach started hurting just...
