I never review anything but this was sad. I went there first time ever and I told them I cant eat pork. So I ordered the fried noodles. I asked about spicy they said you can order no spice, so I did that. Then the girl talks to the boss explaining in their language which ic ant understand a bunch of stuff idk, I assumed she was explaining my order, and maybe that I don't eat pork? This girl told me it's a cold salad and has tomatos etc raw stuff like I'm like ok. I expected them to add that stuff to it like the tomatoes they mentioned. Or something, At least? They didn't do anything. The boss after being explained a whole paragraph explanation in her language idk proceeded to ring me up, asked what I want, I looked at her confused (and i thought didn't she tell you since you can't understand me) and so I jsut pointed to the noodles. She said is that it and I looked at her and said yes? She put the package of noodles she didn't do anythign, mo mixing or adding the tomatoes they claimed it had, nothing, jsut put the prepackaged cold fried noodles in the bag and sold them for a smaller pirce than the 8 dollar price the salad normally says it woudo be on the menu, so yea it was cheaper but that seemed wrong. It felt like it was missing something, like maybe the veggies they claimed made it a salad! So I googled it when I got home watched a video on how to make it and yea im mad. Also it tastes like there's msg. She said you'll like it and crave it ans will come back. But I'm pretty sure that's the msg talking. And I can make it at home now that I looked it up, and add the veggies it rightfully deserved. The msg hurts my stomach, thanks, but despite the yummy taste it was not ok to sell something half made. If I wasn't so hungry I wpuld have cut veggies and add it in at home but it was late fpr dinner already and I had...
Read moreEdit: I'm not sure about the freshness of the food. Usually in the past, it has been great, but on my last visit, I ordered Kapoon noodles papaya salad, and the noodles were old, hard and stale. I would've been happier with them telling me they didn't have any Kapoon noodles and I would've ordered a different style of papaya salad. Freshness is very important and I was unhappy with this order. Next time if you go there and order kapoon to go with your papaya salad, ask to make sure it's fresh first. You don't want to eat hard and crunchy noodles. That's not how kapoon noodle should taste like.
The highlight of this shop is definitely the papaya salad. Lao style papaya is super good! This is now my go-to place for papaya salad. I have ordered a few times already and tasted delicious each time. You will not be disappointed with the papaya salad. Will definitely cater from here if I ever need to. I've also bought the steam rolls, and they were good. The drinks were good too. Staff was welcoming and friendly. There's plenty of parking and convenient. I am so glad there's a new deli place in the neighborhood with delicious food...
Read moreI just visited this place this past week. I ordered the Khapoon. I asked the waitress how spicy it was and she said it's spicy to feel it on your tongue but not too spicy, however, for someone like me who never eats spicy, it was too spicy to my liking. Please consider making it less spicy for the customers who never eats spicy; for those who like it spicy, they could always add more sriracha sauce to their bowl or hot peppers. The Khapoon had a nice presentation, was flavorful but very oily; the whole top of my bowl was covered with red oil so as you keep eating it, it becomes quite heavy & spicier, and you can feel it. I had to stop halfway to take it home so I can remove that oil film myself later. I also ordered a Thai papaya but it didn't taste Thai, it was sour and not sweet like it should have been so that sucked; I was not impressed by the papaya and wouldn't order it again. I'm not sure if they messed up the type of papaya that I ordered or if that's just the way their Thai papaya taste. I have yet to try more dishes but I don't want to give up hope on this restaurant yet, I will have to try and go back to try the pho and...
