We wanted to have a special dinner for our family birthday aka our 18th wedding anniversary and this place had great reviews. We came in expecting it to be REALLY good once we saw that the filet was $50+… I think specifically $53. The restaurant is nice and we loved the way it was decorated but we wondered why it was empty. My husband and daughter ordered filet, I ordered the grouper, my son ordered the Alfredo with grilled shrimp, and my 5 year old daughter ordered chicken fingers. We also ordered two Caesar salads and the bread with beer cheese. After about 15 minutes our salads came. Bread never came. 40 minutes later our food began to come out in stages. The chicken tenders had burnt garbage from the fryer all over them. I asked if they were covered in old food from the fryer and the person who brought them said “yeah it’s just stuff in the old fryer oil” like it was no big deal. I had to tell her to take them back and bring new ones. The new ones came out with a small amount of black stuff on them that I would have thought was just black pepper from the batter had I not seen the first chicken tenders. Needless to say, our 5 year old didn’t touch them although she did eat some of the twice fried, old fries. I had to make her something else to eat once we got back to our cabin. Next came the filets, which were swimming in butter and oddly gray. Cutting into them revealed well-done and dry meat. Both had been ordered medium. My daughter powered through hers because she didn’t want to wait anymore. My husband sent his back and received a completely different looking plate 20 minutes later. They had added all kinds of garnishes. Was it supposed to be like that the first time? The steak was slightly pink in the very center of the steak this time and still retained some of its juiciness but still way off the mark as far as cooking temp goes. Both steaks completely flavorless. The mashed potatoes tasted very similar to the Yukon gold pre-made mashed potatoes you can buy at Costco but the asparagus was pretty good. My fish came and was a soggy, white, unseasoned nightmare covered in way too much red, clumpy sauce and was complemented by the same mashed potatoes. My son’s Alfredo was good but the shrimp were definitely not grilled. The real fun came when the bill was delivered with higher prices than the prices printed on the menu. The ruined filets were both billed $70!!!? Our waitress, who was nice and maybe just doing the best she could with terrible food, said that the $17 price difference was due to the asparagus being $10 extra. ?? Math is hard but…? The menu lists the dish with the sides for one price so I don’t know for sure what was happening here. Same thing happened to my fish AND my son’s Alfredo. Our impression was that we were being targeted and ripped off possibly because we don’t live in Blairsville. We do, however, live in atl and are not naive and this was not the welcoming vibe we usually enjoy when we come visit. The waitress gave us a free dessert and took the bill back to rectify the problems. When she arrived with the new bill, she had given us a “discount” and removed the charge for the free dessert which took our bill down almost to the total it should have been in the first place if they had just charged us the prices listed on the menu in the first place. After that entire HOURS LONG ordeal we got no discount and never even saw the manager. We felt like the best thing to do was pay our bill and leave because it was that or cause a scene. We were cracking up by the time we left because the situation became so bad that it didn’t even feel real. Someone call Gordon Ramsey because this place is a good candidate for Kitchen Nightmares. We would eat almost anything before coming here ever again. Our grand total was $240 without tip for 4 regular entrees, 1 kids entree, 2 salads, and 5 sodas that barely...
Read moreWe've been wanting to dine here since the restaurant opened because this chef had been the chef at another local establishment and the food was excellent but after he left that establishment was no longer the same iop. . We made reservations tonight hoping that the food and service would be as good as advertised. First, the good. We were able to make reservations a day ahead of time and on our arrival our table was ready within a few minutes. Our server Suzi arrived shortly after we were seated and took our drink orders and advised us of the specials. I will say that there were several items on this menu that were nearly identical to the restaurant this Chef used to work in and that was a good thing. The drunken mushroom appetizer was absolutely awesome and everything we remembered from the prior establishment. A sign of a quality restaurant is that your appetizer, your salad and your entree is all timed so that you don't have two different plates sitting in front of you at once. In the case of vincent's, the appetizer and salad were timed perfectly but there was probably a 20-minute delay from the time the appetizer and salads were finished to the time our entries were served. I ordered the French onion New York strip, medium rare with the garlic mashed potatoes and my wife ordered the baked chicken which came with roasted asparagus and truffle potatoes which again, were absolutely awesome! My wife's meal was cooked properly and she said it was very good and as I've stated, the Truffle potatoes were amazing. For dessert I had the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and although I'm not normally a bread pudding type person, this was very good. Strong Taste of cinnamon and spices and a hint of bourbon. My wife had the pumpkin cheesecake which she also said was very good. My meal was a bit of a different story. The not so good: I had ordered the French onion New York strip and I ordered it medium rare. The entrees were a bit delayed coming out but it was fairly busy in the restaurant tonight. While my wife's chicken was cooked to perfection, my steak was on the tad overdone side, cooked mostly medium. Now, medium is about as well done as I can stomach a steak so even though it was cooked more than I had requested it was not beyond what I often order which is anywhere from medium rare to medium. The steak was still very juicy, the French onion coating was fantastic, and the shoestring onion rings on top as a garnish added a very nice touch. My mashed potatoes were awesome, the green beans that I was not aware came with the meal were great, the steak being slightly overcooked was my only issue. This is also the reason why I could not give this establishment any more than four stars. Again on the plus side, our server Suzi who we learned works a second job starting in the morning, was very attentive, very friendly and got every order that we made correct and was there to refill our beverages whenever they got more than half empty. The menu had several items on it that I am looking forward to trying in the future, chief among them was the meatloaf which may sound benign to some people, but it can be a great meal depending on how it's made and having dined at the former establishment this Chef was in charge of and now here, I expect that it will be very good. I've read some other reviews where people complained about the price, but there are really only a couple of restaurants of this quality in Blairsville and we found the price based on the quality and amount of food that you get to be fair. Yes it's a bit more than the local chain Steakhouse but we thought it was well worth the cost. We are looking forward to our next visit and I can assure you that we will be ordering the drunken mushroom...
Read moreDined here for the first time and seriously regretted our choice in finding it. Upon visiting the area for the weekend, we wanted to take our friends out for a nice relaxing meal. We were seated immediately, and our waiter asked for drink choices. 1 coke $2.95, 1 sweet tea @ $2.95, 1 water and 1 tiny glass of Ameratto sour for $9. 20 minutes later, not so much as a bread stick. Asked about bread and received 2 pieces of stale garlic bread for 4 @ $5. Apps ordered, 1 small serving of crab rice without crab and flavorless, more like plain white rice, uneaten. $5. 1 bowl of watered down onion soup $7. 1 small cup soup du jour lol $5. 1 pimento grit cake with shrimp app, a whopping $16. The main course couldn't get much worse, right? Surprise.. yes, it can. 2 seafood absolute ordered @ $68! Wouldn't have minded price if I actually received a $34 meal. Served in a tasteless white sauce over pasta, clams and muscles used were the tiniest we've ever had the misfortune of seeing or ordering. Clams and muscles inside were the size of a peanut at best. Dish boasted a whole 2 scallops & 5 med. shrimp to boot, served with.. you guessed it, another piece of stale garlic bread that was unchewable. I refused to eat it, so my husband ate the seafood off the pasta due to still being hungry. The waiter clearly could see I wasn't eating yet made no comments. He obviously must have agreed that it was a joke. 1 very cheap waygu meatloaf that looked plain and dry $18. 1 Panko fried chicken $23 for small cutlet!! TAX & TIP TOTAL OF $210! We most definitely will NEVER return here or recommend it to anyone. Assumed food was good because of the packed parking lot. Lot was full because of the bar and loud music. This is definitely a mountain stop for drinking. The interior is old and outdated. The noise level of tunes and chatter is loud. The food is absolutely ridiculous and overpriced for what you'll receive. Plan on bringing a full belly if you're looking at portions. This is a low-level menu with unwarranted Al La Carte over pricing to even try ordering anything decent. Unfortunately, nothing we ordered met with any expectations. I highly recommend looking to Google and Yelp for other suggestions in the area or find someone who definitely knows of a better place to spend your money if you're expecting much better. This is clearly a case of overpriced restaurant gouging with...
