The more Tex Mex I eat, the easier it is to differentiate in quality. El Tepeyac has been recommended to me numerous times by friends from the Blanchard area. I happen to be on my way to Duncan from Norman on highway 9 and I hadn't eaten. I glimpsed the well lit restaurant, and immediately turned in. It has a gorgeous display out front dedicated to la Virgen de Guadalupe, and the more beautiful artwork and festive decorations inside. I was pleased to note that they offered a michelada on the menu, which I enjoy very much. Then I ordered a chile relleno stuffed with spiced ground beef and covered in a green tomatillo sauce. It came with the obligatory Spanish rice and refried beans. Don't get me wrong, I love Spanish fries and refried beans but they are not all created equal. These refritos tasted fresh, and the rice was savory. But the star of the show was definitely the relleno. It had been sliced in such a way that the cumbersome top of the pepper had been removed and while the pepper had clearly been seared well, the delicious beef spiced to perfection that it was filled with was spot-on. I normally eat about half my food at a restaurant, and then take the rest home for another meal. I couldn't stop eating the relleno, and I ate about half the rice and the beans as well. I was stuffed with delicious Tex-Mex as I walked to my car and saw the sun just below the horizon. The remainder of the drive home was very pleasant, and I look forward to taking my husband to El Tepeyac.

Well, i just Read some of the Reviews and Im Surprised with the Lower Scores. First, Fajitas is my Favorite Dish of all time. I have eatn Fajitas across the Country Seriously. I have a Top 5 and can Tell u Them. 1st is La Hacienda in Modesto Ca, 2nd La Huretha in Russellville Ar. And i can go on. But El Tepeyac has to be in my Top 10. Maybe 8-9. THIS IS QUALITY FOOD. If ur looking for the Bell?? Go next door.. But if UR LOOKING FOR A GOOD MEAL.. TRY THEM REALLY. U CAN LOOK AT MY REVIEWS. I take my Food Seriously.. So They Deserve 5 Stars. ALL AROUND GREAT!!

There's a great family-run Mexican restaurant in Blanchard, located on the north side of the road just east of town, by the Chevy dealership. The salsa was delicious—I always judge a Mexican restaurant on that. The queso dip was just as good and came free with the chips. The food was excellent, very fresh and tasty.

My wife and I had never been here before. We're so glad we finally decided to stop and try El Tepeyac. The food is very delicious, and the portions are just right. They don't overload you with food, but also they don't give you a lettuce leaf with a piece of beef and call it Nouveau Mexican Cuisine. The service is also great. I drink a lot of Coke with my meals, and our waitress never let my glass go empty. That's a big plus in my book. My wife likes Pepsi and at El Tepeyac we didn't have to choose between Coke products or Pepsi products like at every other restaurant we've been in. Amazingly enough, El Tepeyac has both Coke AND Pepsi. Big time bonus! My wife and I can't say enough good things about this place. My wife and I drive from NW OKC every weekend to pick up milk from Stewarts Dairy, and we're going to be eating at El Tepeyac often. This is one of those small town restaurants that we would go out of our way to eat at, even if we weren't coming to Blanchard every weekend. Stop and eat at El Tepeyac and you'll probably enjoy it as much as we did. 5...

I went there for many years. From the time they had started downtown to their current location. I had lunch there one day and paid with a credit card. I noticed the next day they had charged me almost $50.00 for that lunch. Figuring it was a mistake I waited a few days for it to be corrected. When it was not corrected I waited and went in when they were not busy to discuss the problem. After discussing what had transpired and showing my credit card statement I was called a liar and a thief. After a phone call with someone the owner got off the phone and admitted the mistake. Begrudgingly she refunded the overage and walked off Now mind you my family and I have been coming in about four to five times a month for many years. I had spoken and exchanged niceties with this same owner many times. I do not understand the hatred or how she handled this. Needless to say I haven't...
