update 8-20-23 another late night (~10:15P) fast food journey. pulled up and found drive thru line out to the street, let's go in and order. keep your eyes open, plenty of parking. joint was jumping, brief wait for window service, poised, efficient, charming window girl. let them eat cake. got my order right, with all the mustard, ketchup, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and hot peppers in the right places. great fries, tasty hot dog, chopped steak burger and big rib eye. I've got to spread out and try the rest of the menu.
l found this place looking for a late night (after 10PM) non franchise fast food joint. can't find a decent bite to eat or a place with any soul or character in the south burbs after 9 or 10 o'clock. cruising down rt. 30, saw nick's, drive thru open, lobby? I don't like drive thrus, no soul. yes! lobby open. menus displayed typical greasy spoon fast food: burgers in many varieties, hot dogs, sausages, chicken, pizza, gyros and a rib eye steak sandwich, hard to find these days as one owner told me beef is just too damn expensive. usual cast of characters stumbling around; bored but efficient window girl, cook with white? apron and hat, and the show runner walking around in street clothes in the back, paying a lot of attention to the front (can't be too careful at 11:45 PM?) and another customer waiting for his order pacing around talking too loud on his cellphone. I went with the rib eye steak sandwich, $11.00 but big and tasty and they made it the way i wanted it, lettuce/tomato/pickle/mayo, a hot dog, and a filet of fish. order came fast enough for fast food, taste and quality well within fast food standards. sign inside says lobby 'til 12MN, drive thru ' til 1A, rare in...
Read moreThe cashier in the drive through was so incredibly rude. It on Sunday night on oct 29th. I couldn't even see her when I handed my card to her and when she gave it back to me all I saw was a hand and an arm coming out the window. As if she was some sort of Halloween creepy hand giving me my card back. I get my sundae two minutes later and say thank you and got NO words in return. Then I waited for my order for 25 whole minutes. By the way , no one was in front of me when I made my order. I went straight to the window.
I knocked multiple times after about 15 minutes or so to see what was going on and see if maybe they forgot my order. 5 minutes before I finally get my order she asked what I ordered. ARE YOU SERIOUS!? The audacity to leave me there for 20 minutes in the drive thru and ignore me to then finally ask me what I even ordered!? Whoever hired this woman, please, let her go because I'm never coming back to this place. Sorry about everyone else who works there I know it isn't your fault. Honestly I gave the food away and got something else to eat. This was unacceptable behavior and so antisocial the way she treated me. Read moreI drove into the drive-thru and waited and I waited enough time where I had to call the restaurant itself to make sure they were open and finally they answered and said that they were opened and also finally someone in the drive-thru and knowledge that I was there so then I proceeded to state my order , I asked for two cheeseburger combos along with specialty fries, and then I was put on hold for 5 minutes and then she came back and it seems like she did not understand my order so she told me to proceed to the window so the manager can take my order and so I proceeded to the window and the young lady still did not understand the order so then the manager came to the window and he told me that she did add my two cheeseburgers , it took them a total of 35 minutes to finally take the order and give me my food so then I drove away and once I made it home I realized that even the manager still managed to get the order wrong he gave me steak burgers in which I did not ask for that so I was charged for two steak burger combos in which I did not ask for, even after waiting so long the manager did not offer anything to compensate for the time spent in the drive-thru, this was one of the most inconvenienced and longest experiences I have ever had in a drive-thru...
