What can be said, it was pretty terrible. Went there with my son for dinner. First red flag was that it took a really long time for the waiter to even get to our table. I noticed on the website that they were advertising happy hour so I asked the waiter about it. He said, "Sorry, that's only on weekdays." I'm like, "What?" He says, "Today is Saturday." I go, "Huh?" I had to point to my phone which clearly read "Friday" to convince him. He embarrassedly said, "Oh, yeah." "So," I said, "What about the happy hour specials?" He said, "Well, I know we have a dollar off on beer. And there's some discounts on food." "What food?" I asked. "Uh..." "Never mind," I said exasperated. And just ordered some fish and chips for my son and a Bacon Cheddar Burger for myself.
As for what I ordered, the menu said it was this: "our ground bacon and beef burger topped with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese and more bacon". Got my food (took forever). Took a few bites of the burger. Noticed that there was no bacon. No Caramelized onions. Yes, it took me two bites. I thought maybe it was just light or something. Had some fries which CLEARLY had been left under a heat lamp for awhile. There weren't bordering on cold and very stale.
Told the waiter. "He said, "Oh, the burger is my fault but the fries aren't." As a side note, as a waiter, everything wrong with the food you bring to the customer is generally your fault if you can see it with your own eyes. If you bring clearly stale and old fries to the customer without bringing it to the attention to the kitchen, that's on you dude. A good restaurant will make new fries. It's not that hard. Then he says, "We'll take the burger off your bill."
Anyway, after another 15 minutes, brings out "my" burger. Basically, the same thing with two slices of bacon on top. No Bacon and beef mix. No caramelized onions. It didn't taste bad, but it definitely wasn't what I ordered. Fries were still stale. Just awful.
Then, he brings out my bill. "I'm new here," he said. "my manager says to just charge you for the cheaper burger because it's less expensive. After all, you did get two burgers."
Appalled, I paid my bill. Did NOT tip my waiter. Sorry, man, I know you live on tips, but I'm not tipping for that service. It's an insult to competent waiters everywhere.
DO NOT EAT HERE! Lord have mercy, have some...
Read moreTonight was a horrible experience. I was in the restaurant located in Bloomfield Hills and the Manager was totally rude and abrasive. I wish I could give this Manager a negative rating but google does not allow this rating. I frequent this place several times a week along with several of my friends, so the Manager knows who we are and we not strangers. We never had any issues. The Army/Navy game just ended and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer started to play on the televisions and big screen. People were watching it without sound for about 20 minutes. Everyone around the bar area and the restaurant area was watching it and enjoying it. The restaurant was at about 15 % capacity. There were several children also watching it with their parents in the dining area. Several people asked the bartenders to turn up the sound so everyone can enjoy the Holiday spirit, especially trying to get over the past couple of years. The staff asked the Manager if they could turn up the sound. Her response was NO and this is a sports bar. Didn't know this was a sport's bar and not a family restaurant? Everyone was disappointed by this approach because their are numerous TV's that could show the sports if someone chose to watch the hockey games. The Manager then chose to change all TV's to hockey to prove a point!! The children looked extremely disappointed along with the parents and the adults at bar area. I heard several people state they were leaving because of this action. My friend went to the Manager and asked why are you doing this? She stated it was corporate policy. She then decided to come over to me (don't know why) and try to explain to me that she text her boss and he was totally in agreement with her position. She proceeded to read me his text and asked me if I wanted his name. I said no and that I would write a letter to corporate in Columbus. She then stated no let me give you his name, in which I said I was not interested. She continued to be in my face and badger me about the circumstances. I asked her to leave me alone three times before she walked away. I truly understand corporate policies. However, as a Manager, you have the ability to think outside the box and not be a rude robot!!! Every employee in this restaurant is awesome, but, beware of asking this Manager of anything outside...
Read moreThis is a great restaurant hands down one of the best I've been to in a short while. The only thing I would have to say bad is the prices are a little bit high but that's happening everywhere right now so.. we ordered the El Cubano sandwich and the buffalo chicken sandwich both of which were amazing. For the price you do get a hefty sandwich so it kind of balances out in a way. I mean the chicken breast on the buffalo chicken sandwich alone was gigantic and super delicious. Wasn't sure how it was going to be because with buffalo chicken you can get something they just dipped in Buffalo sauce or actually spent some time and put the flavor in the batter and that's what they did. Spectacular sandwich. Same with the El Cubano, great sandwich! We were really feeling like Buffalo sauce that night and we got the buffalo cauliflower which also blew us away and was talking to the server about how they make it so we can do it at home in the air fryer. The drinks were delicious they had hop slam on tap! We got an old fashioned that was made really well and besides having to wait for them to go get orange juice from the drugstore next door the tequila sunrise was delicious also. The service was great not too much not too little. The server was very friendly and sociable. The atmosphere is nice they have a fireplace you can see behind to the server station when you first walk in and on the other side of the server station. The bathrooms were clean. They had a good amount of beers on tap also to choose from. It's nice because they don't have a giant menu which is really good they keep it limited so that what they do make is spectacular. I don't doubt everything on their menu is great. Definitely going to go back we when we are out...
