Is this place a perfect venue for an intimate gathering of about one hundred people?
First, the location: Because of its proximity to large roadways such as Woodward, Southfield, Telegraph, Square Lk, M59 and 75, it is easy to get to from all directions, really.
Layout: The exterior has a covered entryway at the main entrance. Once inside, you are met by a small foyer that is a perfect size for receiving guests. In this area, there is room for tables, displays, etc.
Immediately beyond the foyer, and thru the French doors is the smaller of the two rooms. There is a partition in this room, that when open, flows into the main banquet room. This is a nice feature, and I'll explain more later.
As you enter the building, into the foyer, you can go straight into the smaller room, or turn to the left, and walk down the hallway. You will pass through another set of French doors that open into the main banquet room. This is where the magic happens. More on this in a minute.
Bar: The bar is built-in, and tucked away in the corner, just to the left, as you enter through the French doors and into the main banquet room.
Main Banquet Room: The event we attended was a smaller, intimate wedding with closest friends and family. Approximately 100 people were in attendance. This room accommodated this number of people with room to spare.
As a side note, I will also mention that there is a restaurant that shares the same owners/parking lot, and it turned out to be a perfect location for the men of the ceremony to wait patiently for the ceremony to start. When they got the signal, they walked back across the parking lot and staged inside the Iroquois Club hallway, just in time for the start of the ceremony.
Once the (beautiful) ceremony was over, the wedding party exited the main room.
The officiant made an announcement, inviting folks to please join the wedding party in the adjacent room, for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, while the staff prepared the main room (where the ceremony took place) for the continuation of the celebration.
While guests were now gathering in the smaller room (which during the short ceremony was also transformed from the brides staging area, to tall cocktail tables) enjoying conversation, cocktails and heavy, strolling hors d'oeuvres. The facility folks (behind closed doors) were transforming the main banquet room from chairs to tables, white linens, center peices, and set up the beautiful head table (in front of the fireplace), etc.
Then, when it was time for dinner, and time for the DJ to announce the wedding party, guests were ushered back into the main room.
While guests were finding their tables, the small room with the partition was once again transformed into part of the main room, with the same beautiful table settings. The partition opened, and it became one large banquet room.
I want to point out that this magic happened right in front of the guests (figuratively). It was seamless, and no one was aware that it was happening! It turned out to be absolutely beautiful! I'm not sure David Copperfield could pull off such a trick.
Food: I've been to many events over the years and experienced lots of food served at various venues. This place nailed it. The steak was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, hot, tender, juicy and flavorful. The same with the chicken. People were actually discussing how good the food was.
Staff: In addition to the aforementioned, this is where this place shined. The staff was accommodating, kind, professional, and first-class all the way around. From my perspective, I was able see the event planner keep everything and everyone organized. She did this thoughtfully, and kindly, and with just enough assertiveness to keep everything on task. There are so many moving parts to these events and she (and her staff)...
Read moreIf you're looking for a perfect wedding night, look no further than the Iroquois Club! Their professionalism, attention to detail, and kindness are absolutely unmatched for the price you'll pay. From the moment we contacted them, Katelyn and Nikki were on top of the wedding. Not only did they break down pricing and offer suggestions to save money, they were incredibly accommodating for everything we requested! We were on a very short timeframe due to immigration visa requirements and the ladies at the Iroquois helped us navigate all the hurdles with ease.
On the day of the wedding, Katelyn had things in motion for us before I even arrived. She could tell I was nervous and anxious and stepped up to help make decisions and get things into place - even taking over to allow me to go get ready! When I arrived, I stepped into a well-oiled machine. We had several staff members waiting to sneak me inside, and who stayed with us to assure things were taken care of. All I had to do was stand there, walk, and say some vows! They handled everything for us, things I hadn't even thought about, so flawlessly there was not a single bump the entire evening. The staff cannot be commended enough for their work. We had one woman with us all night who continuously checked in with me, updated me on any issues, and reassured me when I was worried something had gone wrong! My guests told me over and over again they felt like royalty the way they were treated, and many said they'd never been to a wedding to high-end and fancy! For the low price we paid, it was an amazing compliment! It really felt like we'd shelled out 10k minimum, and we barely hit half that! The open bar was an incredible bargain and the bartender was SO sweet! At the end of the night she asked my husband and I if she could make us the last drinks before closing up, which was so kind as we'd barely been by and she noticed. They attentiveness cannot be overstated, as literally every single thing was handled with a gracious, gloved hand. The real highlight for us though was the fact the staff managed to sneak in some photos at the Photo Booth we had, AND leave us a special note in our guest book. It may have seemed simple to them, but seeing their genuine kindness and support of our marriage really touched us (and was what finally brought me to tears lol!), it's something we'll treasure for years to come. There isn't anything we could think of that would make the night any better. It was perfect, and it was all thanks to The...
Read moreWow. I don't even know what to say about this venue outside of how jaw dropping it is, and how amazingly thoughtful and attentive the team is at The Iroquois Club. We were originally supposed to get married September 2022, but had to push it due to some unforeseen circumstances with the military. The Iroquois Club didn't hesitate and offered to let us reschedule at no additional expense in 2023.
Working with Katelyn was probably my favorite part of the whole experience. She didn't hesitate to answer any questions or think up ways we could collaborate to really make our whole vision come true. They are also extremely collaborative when it comes down to working with you on budget, which we really appreciated. They are also very attentive and understanding about food allergies/dietary preferences, and have so many ideas on how meals can be adjusted to make those concerns a non-issue.
The #1 piece of advice I would give other couples shopping this venue: do NOT skimp on the food. I know that getting a lower package is tempting, but their food is phenomenal (probably helps that their sister restaurant is right next door). We had so many people come up to us raving about how amazing the food is. They are also really good about making sure that the couple gets enough food to eat the night of.
The only thing we were bummed about is when the night staff took over, they forgot to save us some wedding cake (which we were 100% looking forward to the next day). But it was so minor compared to what Katelyn and her team did--we'll happily just order some anniversary cake...
