I have visited this Starbucks café several times and beside the extended rush hour morning wait, I had great customer service from the order counter to the checkout counter. Today I went at 3:00pm to order a coffee cake and I experienced one of the most egregious customer service ever. I was initially greeted by a pleasant smiling employee followed by another employee with a angry countenance. The second employee looked as if she hated her job or she hated the day. I presented myself with a smile. Usually a person would receive a return smile or at least a warm welcoming greeting in which I received neither. I made my order of a coffee cake and she asked if I wanted my cake heated, to which I replied "no thank you". Perhaps due to the crowd noise she did not hear me because, she went to heat my cake. No problem. After bagging my order, she abruptly threw/tossed it at the check out counter. Without a "thank you" or "have a nice day", she abruptly turned away. I was flabbergasted at her demeanor. I have never been treated in such a way as to feel unwelcomed and to feel as if I was an irritant. If the café has camera's, management can see the footage from my arrival to my check-out. My order is 2505, 10-22-2024 at 3:00pm. I was going to go to the counter to get the name of the rude staff, petite young girl wearing glasses and dark brown hair. I did not see a visible badge on her so, I left. I will be contacting corporate for her to have disciplinary actions. I know we all go through vicissitudes of life but that does not excuse anyone from being egregiously rude to a customer or anyone; especially if your profession is customer service. The staff is seemingly allergic to eye contact. They all just mill about, looking down at the machines/drinks, and mumble out peopleâs names with zero friendliness.
ZERO sense of urgency among ANYONE in this store. Itâs like theyâre all in slow motion regardless of how in the weeds and behind on drinks they are. Thereâs ALWAYS a mob of people standing around frustrated and waiting forever for their drinks. Theyâve NEVER delivered an item within the estimated time from the app, in my multiple experiences.
A regional manager needs to get in here and do something. This is a joke of a store.
Update from latest visit 10/28/25: Lowering from 2âïž to 1âïž since no one seems to be doing anything about the issues that almost every review mentions and itâs been this way for years now.
Staff is moving in slow motion. Itâs no wonder orders always take way longer at this location. They donât care. They donât make eye contact. They mumble when they call names for drinks. You would think Starbucks leadership must be mistreating these people for them to show up and act like this...

Needless to say I had already tipped and everything, she didnât even give me a straw or invite me back,, terrible terrible hospitality, 15 years ago when I managed a Starbucks, there would have been no way I would have placed her on drinks she doesnât have the âspankâ anywho looking for the corporate number, it is alway a miss miss hit when I go to this Starbucks on Maple and Lasher, I politely put them in the trash was not worth making a new one cause after I say something how can number 2 be better? Zero Stars (just wasnât worth the time to complain ppl are not passionate about their performance or customer connections anymore.
