I thought I was close to New Orleans for a moment in time. The waitress was really nice. Any restaurant where they pack up your leftovers for you is automatically at least 3 stars. I really love seafood and finally had the chance to sit down in this place and I will be returning. For the amount of good the prices were reasonable. Look, it’s really hard to get the right amount of seasoning in a crab boil but they do it multiple times a day. I had black mussels, blue crab because it’s in season, fried oysters, seasoned French fries, and calamari. The boils come with corn and a couple red potatoes. If I didn’t have braces I would have eaten the corn on the cob and if I didn’t have French fries I would have eaten the potatoes. They give you gloves, bibs, and tools for the various crab types they have. My boyfriend had the snow crab, shrimp with head off, fried shrimp with seasoned fries, and mozzarella sticks. I also sampled those items. We used gloves until we finally had too much butter and seasoning to properly open sea delicacies then threw them in the bucket. They bring it steamed in the bag but you have the option to turn it over onto the tray but we kept ours in the bag to retain heat and ‘save a dish’. Can’t wait to get my braces off so I can eat the corn on the cob. Also, food came quickly and they followed current guidelines for COVID...
Read moreI am a firm believer in supporting local businesses so my community may thrive as I invest in them. While Tasty Crab's food may be tasty, the management is rather unpleasant and unprofessional. I reserved the private room for a celebration weeks in advance and was assured the room was available. Following management instructions, I called 3 days prior to my event to confirm the number of attendees so they could determine the number of servers needed. I also confirmed arriving 30 minutes early so I could decorate, and I was assured the room would be ready. Much to my surprise upon arrival, there were 5 families seated in the private room with 2 not yet receiving their food and one preparing to order. I immediately asked why guests not attending my private celebration were in the room. I was told the restaurant is busy and had to use the space I reserved, and I have to wait. Having family from out of town and this being Commencement Weekend, I was extremely dissatisfied with the poor mismanagement, lack of professionalism, and disrespectful communication demonstrated on an exceptionally special day. Seeing my daughter cry broke my heart, and I quickly with the help of family identified another local restaurant who accommodated our large party on the same day. Needless to say, I shall not return to this distasteful...
Read moreWhen you walk in the place looks nice but it seems to be the same staff that ran the buffet that was there before. They have a cool fish pond where the fish weren’t moving at all which should have been a warning side. A lady came by and walked away without telling is to follow her to our table and our waiter with the double looped earring forgot 3 things at separate occasions, took forever to give us the bill and never asked about refills. We split 2 coconut shrimp which were small but x5 with a vinegar dip. We got a 1lb blue crab in garlic butter. It came with one corn cut in two pieces and 2 small red potatoes about an ounce each. They bring the boil out in a bag that looks like a garbage bag and dump it on the plate. The crab had no meat and the shells are impossible with the slippery butter. I read a comment that says it’s merely an empty exoskeleton. That is the perfect description. It does come with a baggy of gloves and bib which I loved. The garlic butter had no other seasonings so was horribly boring and begged for salt. It made my lemon water scream flavor. The unagi sashimi didn’t say it came on radishes and was sad I didn’t get my rice. The eel tasted ok but la bambas- Mexican place, when they do have it, is so much better.
