Unfortunately our experience was not the best and it was all due to our server. She was condescending, insulting and rude. When ordering, she had a hard time understanding English. We slowed down and repeated ourselves a few times which we were happy to do. No one thought anything of it. But she presented an attitude of being frustrated with us. She also corrected us for not ordering the wine correctly and schooled us on how we should have ordered it. And when our wine arrived and all at our table agreed the bottle had begun to turn bad, she argued with us that it was not bad, we just didn’t know our wine. I think a table of 5 people all over the age of 60 who have had experience with wine for decades would know when a bottle was turning. She snidely told us that maybe we should not order that type wine in the future as it wasn’t for us. We were floored. All she had to do was remove the wine and bring us another. But she chose to belittle us with condescension. It was very unfortunate since the food was delicious. If we ever decide to patronize them again, we will make sure she is not our server. We have dined at the sister restaurant, Ferraro’s Kitchen a few times and had a lovely experience. It is a shame that one server can completely ruin your experience, and make such a bad impression upon your...
Read moreAbout 6 months ago, we visited Blue Ridge for the day and dined at Ferraro's Kitchen. We had a great experience (see review)! We learned that Bites by Ferraro opened earlier in the day and would be a good choice for a day trip. Great choice, indeed! We were greeted and seated quickly, and our host/server Danielle (the lovely, French lady) set our table while telling us everything that she was going to do to make us comfortable and ready for a great Bites experience. She explained the menu and highlighted certain dishes to give us guidance on making our choices. We were able to share among the four of us some appetizers and Pinsa Romano (Roman-style pizza). We tried the two bruschettas along with the Sorrento and Tartufata Pinsa Romana. ALL were yummy, different, and appetizing! What we loved as much as the delicious food was the way that Danielle took care of us, checked in on us, and treated us like family! She is a treasure and delight! She made us feel like we were her guests and good friends, as she talked with us, joked with us, and handled everything so expertly to ensure that we were relaxed, comfortable, and able to enjoy our time, together. We look forward to another trip to...
Read moreDanielle F was our server (I believe) and she was great BUT she was training a young lady , which I feel horrible because I forgot her name, who we found out that it was her first day or second day and my husband and I had to take the time to inform management and the owner how amazing she was. Not only was she sweet, pleasant and attentive but she knew the menu better than some that we have had at Ferraros, and that is saying a lot. This young lady went through the entire menu and informed us about the favorite dishes and described them perfectly. Please know we sincerely do not know who she is. All we know is she drives one hour to work to Bites and worked at a BBQ place. I truly hope someone will read this review as she deserves this recognition and mostly the owner and manager need to know. She was great and made our experience so nice that we will be back very soon to try either the Tiramisu or the Lemon dessert that we were too full to try.
Btw, Danielle F was...
