TeaTree Spa — Local services in Blue Ridge

On June 5th, 2018 my husband treated me with the gift of microblading my eyebrows. My eyebrows are very blonde and sparse due to an autoimmune disorder. I’ve had them done before and loved the result. So I went to Leslie Jarrett at Tea Tree Spa. In short - I am permanently scarred. My eyebrows were so uneven - when my husband saw me - he said I looked like I had a stroke. Even though this is supposed to be a “semi-permanent” cosmetic procedure, that is not my case. Over a year later my eyebrows are spattered with pigment and I have deep red lines where she did the outline. I have been going to a licensed esthetician for microdermabrasion to help lift the pigmentation as well as chemical peels. I have two more treatments to go, but I’m not seeing much of an improvement. Every time I go to put my makeup on in the morning - tears well up. I found out later that this nurse Practitioner spent most of her practice within the prison systems - not esthetics. My guess is that there is not much experience behind the blade. The first time I had the procedure done - the esthetician spend almost an hour measuring with plumb lines to balance the eyebrows with my eyes. It looked like a blueprint before she started the procedure. That was not the case with Ms Jerrett. She used stencils and free hand. No measuring. The original sketch didn’t look bad, but when she finished - it looked horrible. I could not get out of the facility fast enough. Then the look on my husbands face said it all. The scars are deep - and it is doubtful that they will ever look normal again. Please - do not use this woman if you are concerned about your appearance. She refunded my money - but I have spent thousands in treatments to reverse what she did to me. Buyer beware. She’s not all that she says she is. From prison work for most of her career - to esthetics? Find someone who knows what they are doing. If I could post pictures on here - you would know what I am talking about.

Update: While the new owner response thought my review was inappropriate, she/he is not living with the scars that were left behind. Yes - the esthetician in question did refund me my money, it certainly does not cover the office visits I have made to dermatologists and the treatments I’ve endured to fix the unfixable. Three years have passed and I’m still using a concealer to cover the scars. It may not be of any concern to the new owner, but shaming me for my review will not stop me for voicing my concern to other patrons. If anything - it has emboldened me. We were scheduled for two couples massages. I received a call the day before that one of the massage therapists was sick, so one couple could receive the couples massage and the other would be in two separate rooms, which was fine. She told me we would receive all the benefits of the couples massage anyway. we arrived 30 mins early for our 310 appointment as instructed to fill out the paperwork. We when arrived we were not greeted, just handed four clip boards. It took us about 5 minutes to fill it out. Once we were done we just sat in the main lobby, not told where the restrooms were, asked if he was wanted water or moved to a more comfortable location. To be callled a “spa” is a stretch. We waited 40 mins from arrival till the first person was called in. We were all called in at separate times I had Jeremey as my therapist and he was TERRIBLE. I told him the two proble areas and it was like he avoided them. He spent more time getting lotion and applying it then an actual massage. He did my feet as he moved down my legs then went back up the body after toughing feet. He didn’t do my shoulders or neck- the areas I requested. After the massage I was not told where the rest of my group was until I called them. We then were all sat in a nice sitting area after the massage. This is the space we should have had to wait in. I’m sure the spa will reply trying to redeem themselves as I have noticed this area does that with reviews. I had an extremely disappointing experience with TeaTree Spa. My partner and I had scheduled a couples massage last week, but unfortunately, we both came down with COVID. In an effort to do the responsible thing and avoid potentially exposing their staff, I called the night before and left a voicemail explaining our situation.

Despite my proactive communication, they called us the morning of the appointment and, to my surprise, rudely informed us that we would still be charged for the session. There was no understanding or flexibility, even though we made it clear we were doing the right thing by staying home to avoid further spreading illness.

This lack of empathy and professionalism was shocking. Instead of appreciating our consideration for their staff’s health and wellbeing, they chose to focus solely on the policy without any room for understanding. I get that businesses have policies, but this felt like a complete disregard for the circumstances. I won't be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend them to others given their poor handling of the situation. It’s sad to see places prioritize money over customer satisfaction. They advised to call the owner but I could barely talk at the time. I also prefer email so it was in writing. Seems it was too much trouble.
