801 Catering — Restaurant in Bluffdale

I was really looking forward to using 801 Catering for my wedding. I first contacted them by phone at least three months before my wedding date. I was told to fill out an online form about my event and they would get back to me to get the rest of the details. After waiting a couple of weeks and still getting no response, I contacted them again over the phone. I was able to speak to someone about my event, the kind of food I wanted, and they assured me that I would be getting an estimate within a couple of days, but that it might take a little time because they were going to be busy. I waited patiently, but when over a week passed and I still had no email, I reached out again. This time I was told that my estimate had been lost and I promptly received my estimate (finally).

I looked over my estimate and noticed that a few things needed to be changed, due to poor communication on my part. I emailed them back the same day I was given my estimate, but I never received a new estimate. I emailed them again a couple weeks later and I still have yet to get a response more than a month after that second email.

I tried calling them again today. It is less than a month before my event and I need to solidify catering plans. I am extremely disappointed because I had such high hopes for this company after reading so many positive reviews. Maybe a negative google review will finally catch their...

I hosted a formal Christmas dinner party in downtown SLC for about 180 people and the food from 801 Catering was fantastic! The turkey and ham was moist and flavorful, the mashed potatoes and gravy, the stuffing...everything was delicious. Everyone complemented the food and wanted to know where it came from.

Alex was professional and helpful. He had catered to our location before and instantly got the warmers for the food going and got all the food set up for us. My order was for 180 people but it was enough for probably 250 people. I fed my whole party that night plus my entire floor at work with the left overs, plus took trays of food to needy families.

My only constructive criticism is that the website wouldn't allow us to change the number from the 20 people minimum to 180. The voicemail for the business doesn't have the business name or actual message it just gives the phone number. I was't sure I was calling a legit business. They didn't answer my calls because of my California area code so I had to reach out on facebook to get a hold of them to ask some questions.

Their quality and quantity of food and personal service at the event far surpassed the frustration of the website and voicemail. I would...

Chef Alex and the 801 Catering Team are amazing! We have been receiving personal family meals for a family of 7 for a couple months now and just love the variety and quality of food we are receiving. Alex is wonderful to work with very flexible. His prices are unbeatable too! We tried a couple other personal chefs before 801 Catering and found them to be incomparable. One of the kickers for us in choosing (and staying with) 801 Catering was the flexibility in grocery requirements. We had some pretty specific needs in quality of food and Chef Alex had no issues working with us. I definitely recommend 801 Catering for not only personal family meals but also business catering, I had 801 cater a business lunch for me over the course of three days and he was quick to respond and a moments notice and gave us excellent choices.
