While a bit more expensive at lunch than other restaurants with the same fare, the quality of the food is definitely worth it. I wanted the lunch enchilada rancheras but couldn't take off a couple of things because they were premixed. I think they thought I was just trying to be difficult at first, but I'm on a specific diet and have Crohn's disease. I just have to be very careful what I eat and how it's processed.
It was no problem at all for me for the man who spoke clear English with tattoo sleeves (maybe a manager, I'm not sure. I didn't catch his name) to explain that it was premixed and couldn't be substituted or altered. I just picked my second choice, which was a taco, enchilada, and rice combination. I'm not sure the waiter knew how to explain, but that's okay! Their restaurant is not responsible for my dietary issues, and not at all obligated to change anything. My fiancé got the enchiladas rancheras I couldn't and ate the whole thing, so it must have been good! (I'm jealous! Hah).
Our food came out quickly, hot, and the quality of the ingredients was very noticeable. We didn't even talk much as we ate, which is abnormal for us! Our waiter was perfect, albeit a little busy when we were ready to leave, and we had to wait on the check and a box for me, but that doesn't mean the service was bad at all. He was perfect, and I wish I could have tipped him much more than we did. (I'm very sorry I forgot your name, but you were amazing on Wednesday, January 31, for a couple of weirdos - one with green and blonde hair - enjoying some lunch!)
There was a beautiful chandelier above our heads with flower domes around the lights that I didn't even notice when we came in, but it was pretty to look at while we chatted with full bellies. I almost hurt myself eating too much, it was just that good!
I don't know if we will be on this side of town again anytime soon, but if we are, we will be back! I highly recommend...
Read moreWe come here every once in a while. Food Is pretty good. Queso blanco there is delish, Fajitas are soo good. Drinks and cocktails are nice. I got the Bahama mama. If i recall correctly it is white and dark rum and coco rum with pineapple and some Grenedine. If you like rum and pina colada flavors and not pure sugar but not pure alcohol it's just the right ratio. The prices can be a little high for a mexican restaurant but not outrageous. I give it 4 stars and not 5 because though the food and drink (and omg the salsa) are good, the waitress we had, was a but awkward ( i think because she may have spoke little English. Still, not a smile or anything at any point. Just wide blank stares. not normally something i would be bothered by but she didn't get our orders right, so it all just added up. My boyfriend darinly ordered a 27 ounce margarita kind of drink. He was given and paid for the 10 ounce drink. I asked for queso blanco on my enchiladas supreme. She thought I meant instead of the enchilada sauce. So it was just queso. which was still good but i would have liked the enchilada sauce too. Also offered us more chips when we were out of both chips and salsa. She only brought us chips. Would have been nicer if she was a little more attentive, that's all. The other waiters have been fine in the past. The setting is decent with all the decorations, but i did feel like She kept looking over waiting for us to leave already when we were done eating. Wasn't busy and wasn't close to closing time. Nevertheless, I don't plan on staying away due to one imperfect experience. Still a great place for Mexican food just depends on what...
Read moreSeated. Handed a menu. I could see the wait staff for the area I was busy because he already had a large parry to services as well as another family of 3. They then seated another family of 3 in the area that was expected to grow to a group of five.
Chips fresh. Salsa good flavor without excessive heat.
Asked for unsweetened tea. Received sweet but only mildly sweet. Not a typical southern tea syrup.
I typically order chicken type burrito but they didn't have a menu item similar to my standard order from other resturant. A burrito filled with chicken and other veg, topped with queso blanco.
Instead I ordered burrito with beef tips. The burrito was acceptable flavor without out performing the toppings added that buried the burritos. Yes folks the picture shows 2 burritos under there.
The waiter did apologize when he was informed of the tea mixup and brought me a fresh glass of unsweetened tea. Tea is clean tasting.
This resturant does not do the upset attempt that reaturants used to do. The attempted sell of dessert or other after dinner item. Resturants used to leave a dessert menu on the table to tempt the sale of those items.
Waiter did not bring back my detailed receipt when he brought my slip to...
