Update: No longer #1. Last time I was there I ordered Lettuce Wraps. This place is already known for nickel and diming over condiments and charging extra for things like hot sauce, or $3 for green onions in wonton soup, but guess what doesn't come with the Lettuce Wraps... Lettuce. They wanted to charge me $0.50 per piece of iceberg lettuce. Mei said that's how they serve them there. Uh what? No one on this planet serves lettuce wraps without lettuce, otherwise it's just seasoned ground chicken. Then she proceeded to argue that it is the way everyone serves them, and brings fried donuts as a peace offering. Why not just bring lettuce. So I took them home and stopped at Meijers for lettuce.

Then a dude ordered online for pickup. Showed up to pick them up and they argued that someone else already picked up his ordered. They gave his order to the wrong guy! So instead of fixing it, they made him pay again to get his food. I felt bad, the customer barely spoke English and had a hard time understanding.

Bonus: I've added pics of lettuce wraps from Thaifoon in Robinson TWP, so they get a hint of what lettuce wraps actually are.

House of China has taken over the crown for being the king of Chinese restaurants. Best flavor and value. Golden Hunan is great too, but not sure they ever opened back up for dine-in. Takeout is awesome.

Old review: It's a tough battle who is the number one spot of Chinese food in this area. House of China & Golden Hunan are both solid contenders.

If you like Hunan Chicken or anything with brown garlic sauce, this place is king.

Their General Tso's Chicken with white meat(extra $$$) is solid, but sometimes they overcook it. For the best Gen Tso's I'd try Golden Hunan or...

Edit* lowering from 5 stars to 3. Came in and ordered something different for take out and didn’t dine in. Food was very soggy from too much oil and being breaded. So much oil that I couldn’t finish it. Never heard of a place charging you $3.00 for 4 pieces of broccoli. I thought it was strange that the person taking my order didn’t give me a total. But when I came in to pick up it was too late. I would have just passed. Should have known better and just asked. Disappointing but now I know. I just won’t deviate from what I normally get and not add on since there is no real value to be had. I still will return though. Just left a bad taste in my mouth this time… literally.

Excellent service. The young lady at the counter was helpful and attentive to my dietary restrictions. Food was fresh and flavorful. Prices are reasonable for food quality and portion size. The only thing I could be critical about would be labeling for allergy restrictions on the menu. (Shellfish, vegetarian/vegan, gluten free etc) Many restaurants in major cities are keen to this and it helps the customer make the right choices in case of a language barrier. However this does not take away from the experience....

We had our redemption anniversary here. The first one was bad. This was great. The place was nicely decorated and clean. Cutlass goblets were on the tables for water. The place is small but the flavor is huge Two young waiters. Both were friendly and polite. My husband had the House duck which was half of a duck and vegetables with a bowl of rice. I had Imperial tofu which had a good variety of vegetables and rice. We had a pot of tea. Everything was very good and we left quite happy. Next time I want to try the salt/pepper tofu. Several options for vegetarians or vegans. *Update The salt pepper was SOO god. I shared it with my meat eater husband and he enjoyed it,too. Went again tonight. I wanted the salt pepper tofu again but my husband didn’t want to share as he was getting shrimp Ho fun and wouldn’t have room. So in order to have an additional vegetable, I ordered a side of steamed broccoli which was perfect! Not too raw, not overbooked. He said the shrimp Ho fun was every bit as when he had it 35 yrs ago in little China Town, Los Angeles. The owner and the servers are all so pleasant. The only thing that I would change is have it t to home.😉 but it’s worth a 38...

A restaurant that puts a lot of care into their food and has mastered their staples. Outside the restaurant are lovely trees and animal sculptures. The door is adorned with lovely patterns and the entryway is gorgeous. I was there to pick up a takeout order and they did not mind that I was in my Batman onesie. They were so kind and even included some custard tarts on the house. The order consisted of vegetable fried rice, vegetable lo mein and fried dumplings. The dumplings and especially the sauce were nice and savory. The fried rice was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked rice with fresh veggies that I couldn’t get enough of. Similarly the lo mein had a wonderful texture and was nicely sauced. Everything was great as leftovers the next day. Make sure you walk across the street and admire the animal sculptures, particularly the rabbit.
