As a nurse, my mornings start early and are often filled with high-stress situations—so the simple joy of stopping for a matcha that a friend recommended felt like a good way to set the tone for my day. Unfortunately, what I received instead was an unnecessarily hostile and uncomfortable experience that left me shocked before even reaching the hospital.
I asked for a medium matcha, handed over my payment, and then politely asked if I could upgrade to a large before the drink was even made. Rather than calmly informing me of the store’s policy or suggesting a solution, the barista raised his voice at the top of his lungs and snapped, “Well I rang you up already for a medium, I can’t go back and make it a large.” His tone was aggressive and entirely inappropriate for someone in a customer service role.
I asked if he could just upcharge me the difference, and again I was met with an abrupt and cold “no.” When I calmly asked him not to raise his voice at me, instead of apologizing, he dismissively said, “This is how I talk.”
Yet minutes later, I overheard him speaking gently and respectfully to another woman in line—soft tone, composed manner. So now I’m left wondering: Is that really how you talk, or is that just how you talk to Black women like me?
As someone who gives people the benefit of the doubt daily in healthcare, I was deeply disappointed by the lack of basic human decency in this interaction. If this is the customer service standard here, I will never return—and I will certainly warn others to think twice before spending their money somewhere that makes them feel unwelcome, unheard, and...
Read morePretty disappointing and from the other reviews. This is not a good look for this location. Today at 10am 6/15/24 I return a coffee that was made. For some reason a small Ice coffee cream and sugar is very hard to make. They gave me a coffee that tasted burnt and only had cream. When I went into the store and ask if they could remake the coffee and I explained why. She pointed to the door and said sugar is over there and basically told me she wasn’t going to make another coffee. I explained to here that I order the same thing every day and this always happens its easy fix. I also explained that I spend 5-10 dollars a day at DD 365 days a year and this adds up. She didn't care. Well maybe the franchise store owner will care because they are not in the business for free. This location is in a major area and very busy location. Why am I writing this review. So hopefully you will read this and choose to go to a different location. On Yamato. I should have taking the coffee to the Florida department of Health because of how bad it was and tasted like actual dirt. This happens at another location I frequent a lot. The difference is they actually take responsibility and say hey no problem let me make you a new one. Not this location. Just be aware of this location and the employees that work there. I definitely will never go to this location next to my residence and will go out of my way to a better location. Buyer beware!!! This location receives an F- for service and an F- for...
Read moreHad very BAD EXPERIENCE THIS GOOD JANUARY MORNING OF 2022! I placed my order on the app because its just easier heading to work and knowing its packed there in the morning its always great to grab and go. I ordered a sweet tea a sandwich and a bagel I get there my food is ready but I don't see my drink. I see a sweet tea there but its has lemon inside so I know its not mine I ask one of the lady's making the food if she can grab me a sweet tea because its missing in my order she ignores me. I go to the next lady she also ignores me and continues to do her work I am a African American women in the area of Boca Raton Florida so you know its already such a different community, not very diverse. So they automatically treat you different but that's not the point anyway, being I get someone to hear me out after now 10 min they tell me that the tea I ordered it and that its mine, I say no that's not mine because I didn't order it like that ( showing him my online order ) they insist to argue with me about the Dern tea I spent literally 15 min arguing with what looked like a Indian male and female ( either manager or owner of the establishment ) about my ORDER that I paid for!. Very unprofessional and very sad to see a business just not care about the customers anymore do not recommend it if your late or want your order right just go to a different Dunkin donuts its NOT WORTH it very rude !!!! very...
