I came in a couple days ago because it was my dad's birthday and I wanted to treat him out somewhere nice. I heard they had good lunch specials and the quality of the meat was good and so on.. I came in and my appetizer was great I asked the server if I can switch out something on my main plate because I was allergic to it and she gave me a few options. I had asked for broccoli and she said it can be steamed or sauuted with garlic and I asked for sauuted. Then I asked for a medium rare filet mignon and my mother asked for a medium well filet mignon. Once our plates came. Her filet was not the correct temperature and mine was pretty cooked and barely any pink but I asked for medium rare. It should be red basically. Ontop of that the broccoli was steamed it most definitely was not sautéed with any garlic. It wasn't just upsetting at the fact that what I ordered wasnt correct but also the fact that my waitress was just about nowhere to be found to try to fix this asap. It took just about until my parents were almost done with their plates for her to come by and thats because my dad made eye contact with her from opposite side of the restaurant and waved at her to come. She did not ONCE come to see if the food came out alright or missing anything and i sat there and waited for her to come just so I can show her the mistake because its obvious what a medium rare steak looks like and she agreed it was wrong. By the time she got to me i had basically run out of time so I couldn't even ask to change or fix my plate i had to go back to work. Also just so I can show her I waited for her and to top off, having a dry filet I also had a cold plate and plain steamed veggie that I didn't even eat. I should have told the manager when he came by but I didnt want to ruin my parents lunch by complaining and wasting more time since I was already waiting longer than expected. At that point I asked for the dessert and check all at once since its hard to have the server check on us.. but once I got the spoon for my dessert it was covered in cream I had to ask the waitress to change my spoon as well. Overall it was a bad experience of course I ended up having to STILL pay for my steak etc no comp no discount no nothing but lucky for me they gave me my dad's birthday cheesecake for free for the trouble. Something so simple that they messed up on at a steakhouse!!. Didnt even check up, so this could have atleast been fixed with time.. Very upsetting between what I got, The service, dirty silverware, and yet I had to pay for my lunch I couldn't even enjoy or had any of it correct so i paid for something i didn't want and still have to tip the server? this was my first meal I was able to break my diet after a long time so I was looking forward to delicious tasting food since I never get to eat out and it was something I was really looking forward to. Only thing I got to enjoy was soup and bread. This was not worth my cheat meal at all. Very disappointed. Even my mom's filet wasnt the right temperature but atleast hers was more on the juicy side while mine was dry. This was 2nd time here and honestly I am not too impressed. They weren't even that busy to not have the server around to atleast check up on us.. Im not coming back for company lunch here either since its something the...
Read moreOverall, my experience was sub par for the price point. Do not expect a fine dining experience, as there is no apparent dress code, the training of the staff, or any of the finer touches one would expect for a $150 per cover establishment.
The host staff needs some training, not warm or especially friendly. We arrived for our reservation at 530p (for two) to avoid the rush that comes with eating later on a Saturday night, and with a completely open patio, they decided to sit us off to the side of the patio, directly in front of a server station. When we asked for a table in the main patio are as we did not wish to be sat near a high traffic area for staff we received unnecessary push back and a bit of attitude.
I was wearing an all black dress, at no point did the host, any server staff or management offer a black linen napkin, which I did find odd for the type of restaurant.
The Caesar salad was lacking, maybe one or two pieces were a dark leafy green, the rest were the bitter, light green pieces. Again not something you would typically see at this price point. We had the NY Sirloin (Strip) served medium rare and it was PHENOMENAL and the Jumbo shrimp scampi style, the scampi was flavorful and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. For sides we had the creamed spinach, which was probably the most disappointing part of the evening, and sautéed mushrooms and onions. The spinach tasted old and like it was previously frozen or canned. I love creamed spinach, and spinach in general so I was excited for this dish up until it was served. It was so overcooked that it was a mustard green color as opposed to any hint of a vibrant green.
We had to ask for refills on our waters. Once the food was dropped, a manager came over to ask how our food was and from then on we were entirely ignored. After a while we flagged someone down to please clear our plates and bring boxes. It was very obvious that we were finished our meal. The check was dropped off and again after a very long time, we had to flag someone down to take the payment.
With so many great steakhouses nearby, practically a stone's throw away, I don’t feel the need to return. The NYC location is far better, and a higher class of...
Read moreI rated our experience based on staff effort. But I will detail the many unexpected deficiencies in our visit. We came in on Saturday Jan 5 5:30 for my birthday.ticket # 184-2–table 10. Our expectations were extremely high because of the Gallagher’s reputation.
Waiter could not locate the bottle of wine we ordered. He had to come back to us twice and ask for the name and number…it took 20 min.
I asked for extra butter for my steak and the waiter stated” Oh.. you don’t need extra butter they will give you plenty.”
When the food came the waiter brought it to the table next to us. As the guests picked up the plate and handed it back to him saying it not what she ordered. Then put the dinners in front of us.
we ordered mushrooms and we did not get it with our dinner. The manager happened to come by and asked how everything was. He actually went back and got the mushrooms for us.
The steak was cooked well done and I ordered it Medium Well
The reason I did not tell management was………. -we asked the change booth locations upon arrival. -we also changed the wine order due to taste. We felt like we were going to be a nuisance and did not want to seem like we were going to be high maintenance.
I am in the food and beverage industry and it was busy. Two managers came to the table and both were OUTSTANDING in their professionalism and customer service.
The waiter seemed overwhelmed and under trained. But the girl was outstanding who was constantly checking on us and thank us for choosing Gallaghers for my birthday.
I was disappointed… too high expectations… will choose Abe & Louis/ Ruth’s Chris/Raindancer/Okechobee Steak House as FAR...
