As soon as I entered the restuarant, I realized what I had done. I stepped back in time to 1999 and took a visit to Wolfies Rascal House, an upscale New York style deli that failed to live up to the orginal Miami location's name. The meal started out okay. Bread was hot, drinks were fair and salad was tasty. Then the appetizers arrived, chips and artichoke were decent and fried calamari was bland but cooked well. Then came the main course, an 8oz. New York strip that was a tasteless disappointment. This must be the reason they refrain from calling themselves a steakhouse. The mashed potato's were boring as well. And the key lime pie was okay but too sweet. Not worth the money. Service was not that great either. We had dirty plates and glassware on the table for half the meal. And I literally had the sugar packets taken away from me while I was trying to make my coffee since the table next to me needed it. Waitress didn't have the courtesy to ask first; she just grabbed it and took off. This place should really have 3 dollar signs ($$$) because it isn't cheap. Trust me when I say, it's worth spending a few more dollars and going to Ruth Chris or Capital Grille. Bottom line, an overpriced and unexciting trip back to the past to a restuarant that is destined to meet the same fate as Wolfies if it doesn't...
Read moreI had reviewed this location with 5 stars after my first or second visit. However, seems I didn't add any substance or detail therein. Simply put, this place is a hidden gem in Boca Raton. I'm 50/50 in the sense that I prefer how it's not overly-crowded for most days of the week, even Saturday nights. The other 50 being that clearly that isn't so good for business. Coming from a marketing and financing background, headcount and traffic/exposure is everything. The food is top-notch, attention to detail, courteous and lovely staff (James, Laura, Kaitlyn, Swifty?) and I can go on and on. Parking is never an issue, and quite literally anything I've ordered on the menu is prepared and cooked exactly how I'd expect to do it myself. I'm very particular about my drinks, and especially a good rib-eye (which everyone should order, medium rare please). I sure hope this place gets more exposure as to not threaten the idea of it possibly disappearing. Though.. if everyone reading this goes there now.. Darn. I want my space and peace and quiet :P But nah, go there, experience it, and say hello to the names above. They'll be more than happy to make your experience a...
Read moreWe’ve dined a few times at Madisons and always enjoyed it. However we went there on Sunday for their prime rib special. We received a card in the mail indicating that there was a special for$16.99When we received our menus the prime rib special was $22.99. When we inquired with the hostess she said if we had gotten the card then it would be honored at that price. When the waiter came over we were told that we could only get one dinner at that price. We ordered two prime rib dinners anyway. We both requested end cuts and were told that it would be medium well. When ours came it was brown inside with not an ounce of juice coming out. We didn’t send it back and by that time we were disgusted. We tried calling the next day to speak to a manager and were told that he wasn’t there to call the next day we called inThe next day and the same thing happened we left our name and number and no one ever called back. Today when my husband called again we were given the same line and when we questioned it we were hung up on. We will never go back to this restaurant. If this is the way they treat returning customers we are very...
