We had our first and last lightly buttered bagel from Goldbergs on 12/15/2023!!!!! The bagels are barely 1/2 the size of Box Car Bagels. The bagels were tasteless and rubbery!! We supposedly had a whole wheat everything bagel lightly buttered and a sesame seed bagel lightly buttered.
The only toppings I could see and taste on the whole wheat bagel were poppy and sesame seeds. I bit into the bagel and it was tasteless. My wife had a weld done sesame bagel lightly buttered. She said the bagel had no flavor either. When I said lightly buttered, they really mean lightly butter. There was the scent of butter on both bagels. Now comes the best part. Two (2) lightly buttered bagels plus two (2) large black & white cookies can to $13.80. I gave the server $14.00 and instead of handing me the change, they placed it in the tip bowl. I made sure it did not stay. What nerve. Gratuities are a thank you for a job well done and I would never give only a $0.20 tip. They got nothing. Tipping is my choice not theirs!!!!!
When I went home, I got on the Goldbers Bagel website. According to their web site butter bagels are $2.37 each. Large cookies are $2.75 each. Based on the web site prices the total should have been $10.24 + Tax and not $13.80. I do not know who is wrong, the workers at Goldbergs Bagels in Bogota NJ or the web site. Goldbergs will never get a second chance to rip...
Read moreWe’ve given this place multiple tries. We understand that they get busy, which is why we always call in advance for pick up. Unfortunately it seems like they don’t start making your order until you actually show up. Even in that case, they will still prioritize the orders of people who ordered in-person. What’s the point of ordering ahead then? We had to wait 30 mins for a bagel with cc and a chicken cutlet sandwich.
On top of the long wait, we paid $21 and change for the bagel and chicken cutlet sandwich (on a round roll). Questioned the price immediately, and the cashier said don’t worry I’ll give you a receipt. They gave us an itemized receipt, which shows that we were charged $3.70 for the bagel, $10.99 for the chicken cutlet sandwich — fine, no complaints. However…an additional $1.75 (huh?) for cheese, .75 for tomatoes (umm?), and $2 for bacon (fine). When I went on Ubereats to mock up the same order, there was no upcharge for cheese nor tomatoes. Saw another review on here saying that the cashier had attempted to over-charge them, and refunded with cash when they were called out on it. Fishy.
Wanted to like this place, but they’re inconsistent...
Read moreUnfortunately, with all the fabulous breakfast/bagel stores in the area, this one misses the mark by a lot. In this part of the country local business is what fuels the economy, however the owners of this chain must of forgotten about that local feeling with their goal of expansion. I recommend people in the area to go elsewhere, to where you will feel warm and welcome. We had to wait 5 minutes for them to take our order, we ordered a BEC, 2 cream cheese bagels and a plain. We were first in line but had to wait for 7 people that came after us that ordered in the store and had hot sandwiches. They put their large bagels on display, but provide you with their smaller bagels (slightly larger than their minis) for the bagels you actually received. Check elsewhere, which is probably at most 10 minutes for way better food, service, and atmosphere. Once again, I do not recommend this place and for my food followers, Tim is not...
