Black & Yellow Dance and Circus School — Local services in Hackensack

We did a trial and unfortunately with the amount of children in the class, there isn’t enough supervision being there is only one teacher for a large group so my daughter (who is a beginner in contortion and was not asked her abilities by the teacher prior to requesting she do a move) hurt herself, that would be my only honest concern. There was a lack of structure due to this. We were considering this place for summer camp but I just don’t trust that there would be enough supervision for the students. The place itself is very nice and clean which I did like and the displays of the student’s accomplishments are all over the wall which was nice to see but we will not be going back.

Update: the owner then messages me after I write a 3 star review to say that I didn’t need to write them a bad review. I’m sorry but stay away from here! Didn’t even ask if my daughter was ok. Changed my rating to 1 star because the lack of care is ridiculous! Get more experienced staff to handle your establishment and show care in potential clients.

They also contacted all the parents to write positive reviews after my very real review so that they can bring up the rankings!...

Exceptional Dance & Contortion School – A Place of Passion and Growth!

I can't say enough great things about this dance and contortion school! Coaches Liza and Danila truly teach with their heart and soul, creating an environment where kids not only learn but thrive. In just 7 months, my daughter has made incredible progress—she can do splits, cartwheels, and all sorts of impressive bends. And the cherry on top? She’s dancing, having fun, and loving every moment!

What I appreciate most is the positive and encouraging atmosphere. The coaches are dedicated, patient, and know how to bring out the best in every child. My daughter looks forward to every class with excitement, which speaks volumes about the passion and care put into this school.

We are truly grateful for this amazing place and the wonderful coaches who make it so special! Highly recommend to any parent looking for a school that builds skills, confidence, and joy...

My daughter and son had very little experience going into this program. As beginners they learned the appropriate craft to succeed in aerial arts and contortion. They were also taught appropriate stretching which helped their overall mobility. My daughter is now much more confident in herself, she is more aware of her movement and strength. My son has developed stronger core strength which helps with his other sports. Coach Liza and Danila are very patient, they make all classes fun and are very passionate of their arts. They want the children to progress at their own pace and work hard to make it a successful, enjoyable class for all. I highly recommend for...
