My friend had his 18th birthday reservation here-- it was for 6:45pm and everyone was on time. currently 7:56 and the appetizers we ordered (quite literally 2 orders of four piece sushi and one cucumber roll) thirty-five mins ago have still not been brought out. they had use wait for about 45 minutes at a side table while the other group finished their hibachi. I don't know why they'd permit so many reservations if they can't manage the time properly. It seems like a great place, but they just seem severely understaffed and completely unapologetic. Two stars for the water. At least they brought that promptly. Edit: never mind, one star lol they've forgotten to give us soy sauce dishes or chopsticks. We're going to eat our sushi with forks, looks like.

Coming to Mei Hibachi is so fun and relaxing. I came here with my friend and we had the best time ever! The service was immaculate and food was just as spectacular. Mei hibachi is kids friendly and even has trainer chopsticks as well as baby chairs. Staffs are very friendly and makes Mei Hibachi such a comforting place to stay at whether you’re on the go or just chilling with friends and family. I had the steak hibachi and my friend had the pad thai where she gave me some of hers and both were so good. The hibachi was so tender and flavorful and the pad thai was cooked to perfection. Be sure to come visit, it’s a cozy & friend environment to hang in!

I liked the appetizers and the salad bar. The shrimp and salmon hibachi were pretty tasty too. Why were the vegetables last? Our family (about 12) came here to celebrate a 2 year old baby girl's birthday. The staff was informed of her allergy to eggs however the separation of her fried rice from the rest was not sufficient. The birthday girl ended up swollen and needing allergy shots. We didn't care for the chef tossing a vegetable at the baby either. Other than the chef, the service staff was attentive and helpful, especially in serving the birthday cake. Clean and mostly quiet restaurant when the chefs aren't preparing the food.

I have been to this restaurant for years and resecently it has declined in service, food quality and of course post pandemic I completely understand. But by far, last night was the worst! After calling for a reservation in the early afternoon, we arrived on time only to be told there was a 45 min wait time. Servers latterly running around. Completely chaotic. Zero organization. Trying to cater to walk in and reservation which in my opinion, if you are no equipped to handle both just dont. After we were seated don't. Got our food which was the price we now more than what it was prior visit, because they used white out on the menu and wrote on the new prices. The food was subpar to pervious experience to say the least, after dinner, my husband passed me the check to calculate the tip, I had tipped the chef btw, I saw under tax they added a "tips" which under nj law if you have over 6 pRty. You can add 18% tip to the cost BUT, since we were at a multi table ,multiple people table that does not apply, but they added I t to all the ppl sitting at our table. So they collected a tip on every check at the same4 separate checks. Which noone but me noticed table so they collected over 18% tip on..that night I got violently ill and threw up and was sick all morning today. There was something off about the taste that mentioned to my husband who agreed that it was just not what it used to be. Idk if we will be returning after this experience, at least Kikuchi has a standard even if they charge more and are not byob they go by reservation and have fresh foods.idk but this has ruined my go to hibachi experience with this go to hole in the wall. Basically know your availability and your expectations if you want to do well as...

We love this place! It has been our go-to restaurant for years, and it never disappoints. The staff is usually amicable, and the food is consistently excellent. We often choose to visit before the dinner rush hits because, as expected, it gets packed with eager diners.

We had one unfortunate experience during a busy dinner rush that disappointed us. Our server, unfortunately, seemed overwhelmed, and it affected the quality of service we received. On that particular evening, our server forgot to put in one of our orders, and despite being informed twice, the missing dish never made it to our table. We noticed several other issues throughout the dinner - missing chopsticks, a partial order, and no refills on our beverages. We had to actively seek her out whenever we needed anything, and it felt like she was neglecting our table. However, when we got the attention of other servers, they were more than happy to provide refills, to go boxes and even the check. We contemplated leaving a smaller tip when the bill arrived due to the subpar service. However, we were disappointed that the option to adjust the tip wasn't available, which left us a bit frustrated.

Despite this isolated incident, we don't want it to overshadow our numerous pleasant experiences at this restaurant over the years. The overall service here is usually excellent.

We love the food; the menu offers a variety of delicious dishes that keep us coming back for more. The cozy and inviting atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for casual lunches and intimate dinners. The overall experience remains exceptional, and we highly recommend this restaurant for its fantastic food, inviting ambiance, and usually...

First off let's start by saying I read some the reviews for this place I searched some other places which were a little farther so I decided on this place since it was in the area and the reviews weren't that bad. Myself and a couple of girls were going to have a night out it is BYOB so that was a plus for me which is why my rate isn't that bad. So my friend and I were running a little late and my other friend had gotten to the restaurant already so I told her to get a table for us and wait. After just a couple of minutes the lady asked her how long are your friends going to take, is it going to be long, do you know what they want to eat, so my friend told me. Mind you it was our first visit to this place so right away I was pondering on weather we should even eat there or not just by what my friend was telling me. Well eventually they needed the table so they made my friend sit back at the seating area until we arrived. Well my friend and I finally arrived and it took about 5 minutes to seat us at a hibachi table. There were 2 families on the other side complaining of their cook and entertainment at this hibachi place. So our cook came and there was minimal entertainment pretty boring usually at a hibachi place there's more entertainment so I've been told and he cooked the food served us the food and left. The food was okay it wasn't bad it's just the CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. Then after he left our waitress kept coming back is everything okay? Is everything okay? I wasn't so happy needless to say and its expensive. Please don't waste your money here it's not worth it go to another hibachi place. Never...
