Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Boise

I never make these types of complaints, but I had a terrible experience at this location at 2am earlier this morning 08/03/24. Absolute worst customer service, I couldn’t get his name because name tag was not visible. I can’t believe anyone would treat a paying customer the way I was treated. Right from the start the worker at the drive – thru had a terrible attitude.

I am aware that it was late, and worker must've been tired, I know I was. Still that's NO reason to take it out on a paying customer. I ordered a combo meal with a diet coke . I took one sip and it tasted terrible, as if the syrup had run out/ extremely watered down. Just not good, I mustered the courage and politely let this worker know. I even apologized for the inconvenience of asking him if he could swap out my drink for something else or if maybe the syrup could be replaced. He very rudely interrupted me and refused to help or do anything except charge me for another drink.

The whole interaction was seriously lacking customer service skills, I did my very best to maintain a respectful tone and tried to explain why I was making the request to swap it out. As I was asking ,again, if he could please swap it out. He slammed the drive-thru windows in my face and walked away. I waited for a bit to try and ask someone what this worker name is, but no one came. I left extremely upset with the way I was treated. So much so that I will be avoiding this location in the future, DO BETTER. And if you can’t, shouldn’t be working in a customer service-based...

I had to repeat my order to the lady taking my order twice for one burger and three times for the other. Also, when I asked for a cup of water she thought I asked for a large fry. The lobby was empty at the time, so I'm not sure what the issue was there. Maybe turn down the music a bit?

There was an employee pushing in chairs in the dining area, which is great, but he should have had a rag to wash tables with. Several of them were dirty.

That being said, the interior design of this Jack in the box is the nicest I have seen. I love that there is a fireplace inside, even if it wasn't lit (I came in the middle of summer).

My burgers turned out delicious, though maybe not EXACTLY as I ordered them. I asked for an Ultimate Cheeseburger and a Double Jack, both with no bun. I thought I had also asked for Sriracha on the burgers, and neither had them. I wasn't charged for added sriracha on my receipt, but considering how many times I had to repeat my order... 🤷‍♂️

Other inexpensive menu items I enjoy are the Jalapeno Poppers and the Grilled Cheese. Also, their two tacos that they sell are my favorite tacos sold at any fast food restaurant.

Before leaving, I stopped to use the restroom. The pictures are attached are from when I first entered. It definitely needed to be cleaned.

All in all, there are a lot of things to like about this Jack in the Box, but there is definitely room for improvement as well. I would recommend...

Don’t waste your time and money. Family and I stopped by at 9:20pm on a Sunday. Google shows that the lobby closes at 10pm and the drive-thru closes at 12am. The hours posted in the window by the door confirmed the same hours. However, we were told after walking in that the lobby had closed at 8pm, someone simply forgot to lock the door, and we would have to take our food to go (we had already started our order with the gentleman at the register so they let us finish ordering). The only slightly redeeming bright spots were that food was good and the man who took our order was kind and personable. Several people came to the lobby door to find it locked (they didn’t post a sign about unfortunately having to close early so guests were confused why it was closed) and many ended up in the drive-thru that wrapped halfway around the parking lot. As we left, I heard the manager/shift leader say to all the employees, “We close everything in 20 minutes everyone.” It was 9:40, took way to long for “fast food,” and they were still closing their drive thru way before the posted hours. As we drove away, I couldn’t help but notice the open 24 hours sign waving in the breeze right outside the building. It’s a lie.
