The Broadway Bar — Restaurant in Boise

I have been here a few times, the people are nice however getting a refill on your drink can be slow depending on when you go. I recently just went for a trivia night and it was my first time going to this bar. I understand that the rules were no phones when playing, however when you work from home and you have to have your phone on hand, or if you know somebody from out of state or out of country you may need to answer your phone. I was accused of cheating towards the end of the game when I wasn't even in first place, I asked the gentleman if I was cheating when I was talking to my boyfriend in Australia when he came to my table and interrupted us if I was cheating wouldn't I have all the carts? He advised me while I would think so, however when we have x amount of dollars in place we don't want phones. When the rules were set in place no prizes were named, and if I were to have an a family emergency or just trying to talk in general to somebody I cannot respond. When I left they wouldn't allow me to pay my tab which I did not feel comfortable with because I felt the bartender needed a tip they wouldn't allow me to pay on my card I had no cash on hand to do so, I don't believe I will be back to this bar for trivia ever again or even back in general due to the fact I was accused of doing something prior to me having my phone out. Five stars because I've been coming here for six years, BUT tonight was another story. I know that that Kyle is a filler for Lenny's surgery, but Kyle is just plain rude and disrespectful. A service dog came in and he flat out refused, I've worked with service dogs for years and you are LEGALLY not allowed to ask for what reason you own one. While I was paying out and asked nicely about it, he responded with "That's nice sweety, we are a no dog bar, I'd married (My boyfriend and myself) you but I'm not a minister" I've brought my dog here all the time, this has NEVER BEEN A ISSUE. I love this bar! They have the cheapest drinks in town, the bartenders are super friendly and attentive and they have darts and pool. I live nearby and they always treat me right. The only downside is I’ve came across some seedy characters here but that’s pretty typical of late nights in a bar. Most bars I go to, the bar tenders aren’t friendly and they overcharge but Broadway Bar treats you like family!
