Parlor Doughnuts — Restaurant in Bolingbrook

I know I’m going to regret posting this review when my new favorite spot in Bolingbrook gets super busy, but the world needs to know that Parlor Doughnuts is absolutely fantastic.

The doughnuts are next level and not like any other donut I’ve ever had. Based on the size of these monsters, I was anticipating them to be super heavy, but because these are layered (as opposed to a dense cake style donut I’ve had at most spots not sporting the initials DD or employing an Affleck). The toppings are next level and descriptions would fall short. The French Toast and Sandy Beach are favorites in my house, but every flavor we’ve tried has been amazing. We’ve also tried a few of the non donut breakfast sandwiches and those are just as great. Even something as simple as bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast taco is somehow better than any other one I’ve ever had.

While the doughnuts (spelled the fancy way because these little treasures have earned it) and sandwiches are next level, the thing I’ve been most impressed by has been the staff. Super friendly and focused on customer satisfaction. These should be standard for any business, but the way they do it at Parlor you are quickly reminded that it isn’t the case most other restaurants.

OHHHHH MYYYYYY!!! SCRUMPTIOUS!!!

During a break in March I was reading up on PD and decided that when I was in the hour (I live about an hour away) I was going to stop!

I’m so happy I did! The whole experience was great! There is plenty of parking in their lot and across the main drive. The entrance is doubled door. The only part that would be rough is if there were a lot of people in line inside and no room to wait because you’d either be in the sitting area or outside waiting. But honestly IT’S WORTH IT!!

I was overwhelmed with the options as this was my first time. But the donut expert was kind and didn’t rush me. There were so many great choices but I went with a Sandy Beach, Cookie N Creams, and a Local Fave. I then got their Mini’s of Raspberry Filled and Cinnamon Sugar with a chocolate dipping sauce.

When I tell you these were delicious, it’s not even the highest word I could use to describe this.

I’m beyond happy I tried this place and cannot wait to take my niece when she visits me next month.

As someone who’s worked in the coffee business before, I’m always excited to try new coffee places. I can tell that Parlor Doughnuts has all the right ingredients, but they are losing out on so much potential due to the fact that the drinks are not made properly. From the process of recipes to the customer service, there is so much they could improve on. I got a caramel latte and didn’t really taste any caramel in it. When I asked for them to make it sweeter, the barista on shift threw in two more pumps of caramel syrup from a bottle that was almost finished, which meant it wasn’t accurately measured and barely any syrup came out, then proceeded to hand it to me to mix on my own. I still could not taste any caramel. I asked if she could add in some caramel sauce too and she spilled some on the cup while pouring it in and handed me the dirtied cup without cleaning it and told me to clean it myself. The proper training of staff, dedicated customer service, and perfection of crafting the recipes could help them make it...
