Had a terrible experience with them last night. We arrived at 6.05 and was told the wait for our party of 8 would be about 45 minutes. No problem right, its a beautiful night. We grab some drinks from the bar and wait on the boardwalk in front of the hostess stand until about 50 minutes go by. Don't want to bother the hostess but figured I'd check up on progress. The condescending hostess in control of the process proceeds to claim we were called and didn't answer so they bumped us. I check my phone and have no missed calls or text messages from them and showed that to her. I then had her call me to see if she had the wrong number... what do you know, it works. So whats the remedy she comes up with... "well, we'll put you back on the list but there is another table in front of you now". Since I was there with family I didn't escalate things and accepted that it would likely be a few more minutes wait.... 45 minutes later the same hostess approaches us with an amazing offer to compensate us for the at this point 90 minutes of waiting... someone in our party, WOULD GET TO RING THE BELL!... no, the reward wasn't a table... but gosh, we get to ring the sunset bell. Sunset hits, one of the kids rings the bell, then we are told the table is almost ready, say no thanks and proceeded to the italian restaurant on property and had a great dinner. So, my message to anyone going to Gumbo Limbo... don't depend on the hostess call system to actually work. Hover by the hostess stand, remind them every 5 minutes that you are there, continuously ask them where you are in the wait process. Remind them again that you are there. Do not depend on them to work the system properly, or more importantly, to fix things when the mess it up.
Ending with a positive note, the bartenders were awesome. Super friendly and...
Read moreWe came at 740pm after a recommendation, that was a mistake! We are staying at the Ritz Golf resort and we wanted to see the sun set so we rode the shuttle over. No signage showing you where the host stand is, wasted 10 minutes figuring this out, then got on the wait list and headed to the line for the bar, where we were greeted after a 15 minute wait by a very very rude bar tender!!! Fat a drink while in time to watch the sun set. As we continued to wait for a table we found a step for a seat. After 1 hour and 6 minutes of waiting I went back to ask how much longer, oh your 5th on the list, seriously! I see 7-8 empty tables. So we wait and wait and wait…. I go back up and they are like oh yes we are clearing your table now so I go get my fiancé off the steps and as I return the seat out table with a couple that showed up at my 1 hour and 6 minute check! Are you kidding me!!!!!! So if you don’t plan on standing by the host stand don’t plan on getting a table! Absolutely the worst service at a Ritz property!!! We will never come back here!!! If the Ritz was smart they would close this down asap! Oh and we now have a table and it was 90 min after we were told a 45 minute wait for 2! We only stayed because we were scared that if we left the other places would have...
Read moreIn my view, this is one of the premier spots in Southwest Florida. Nestled at the end of Vanderbilt Beach Road, it’s part of the prestigious Ritz Carlton Hotel. The venue boasts a beachfront location with a stunning ocean view. Depending on the season, you can enjoy beautiful vistas and refreshing winter breezes. The menu is extensive, with our favorites being the chicken wings, nachos, tacos, and Cobb salad. The portions are generous, and every dish is freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. Considering the location, the prices are surprisingly reasonable. It’s a fantastic destination, especially when you have guests you’d like to impress with the region’s offerings. Parking is available either through valet service at the entrance of the Ritz Carlton or in a free parking building just past the hotel entrance. I rate this venue a perfect 10 for both food quality and location. If you visit in the evening, don’t miss the sunset celebration marked by the ringing of a bell. However, be aware that it can get quite busy in the early evening during the snowbird season, so it’s advisable to book in advance or arrive well ahead of time. 😊The service and staff reflect the customer care principles and values upheld by the...
