After reading all the great reviews I was so excited to come in and dine one evening, I was sadly disappointed.. Service was friendly and the waitress was prompt on service.. Food was ok, not the worst but definitely Not the best.. and the prices were ridiculous especially for the amount of food and the taste.. and for the prices charged I expected quite a bit better. And no I don't mind paying more for quality food but this just wasn't it . the crab Rangoon were these small barely filled pockets, the pork bao buns I would never eat again, the pork belly was not cooked well and was not crispy it was like eating a big wad of barely warm fat. . The rice had a good flavor but the vegetables were not ala dente, just hard barely cooked.. I had the Orange chicken, it was inedible,it was so spicy I couldn't eat it and traded with my friend.. they like spice but they could barely eat it.. I should of sent it back but it was busy and it took so long to even get food that I stupidly just fumed.. I also must say I've never had that dish served that way, hot extra spicy seasoning?? makes me wonder if there was a mistake while preparing?? and as for The glass of plum wine it was a small portion and if I had known the price before hand I would not had ordered it was an expensive drink that was not worth the price... I really wanted to like it here but I had better food and for a quarter of the price at the " yummy yummy Asian restaurant" (I ate there a couple days after coming here because I just craved Asian food and so I tried them on the fly, if I had known of them before here I would have saved myself money and had a better meal, **they could give kimchi some tips on how to prepare better food) .. our meal with 1 glass of wine and 2 appetizers was over $130 plus tip... ,Perhaps it was an off night but I'd recommend avoiding here and check out further north past coconut point at the "Yummy Yummy Asian kitchen" off of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI finally had a chance to get out and try a new fast casual take out Asian restaurant in Bonita today. This isn't one of those Asian restaurants that freeze and fry your food. Chef James Boyle and family prepare everything from scratch in house daily. Our dining selections didn't disappoint as everything was packed full of flavor and flare.
Because I wanted to try everything on the menu I had to delay my getting the ribeye bulgogi bowl and opted for the bulgogi cheesteak instead. It was so very tasty and flavorful as the fresh beef and shitake mushrooms paired perfectly on the roll, I added a touch of kimchi onto my sandwich just to add a crunch and some brightness to the cheesteak. I joked with James about it being the Mister SWFL cheesteak as I will order it that way again soon!
The pork and shrimp dumplings are the freshest dim sum I've ever had and packed in great flavors. And if I wasn't finished yet the pork belly bao buns completed the death by dim sum meal as they are a foodie favorite among recent diners.
This is a welcome dining option in Bonita Springs as there isn't anything comparable in the area delivering these types of food and flavors at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGot takeout from the Kimchi grill the other day. They had opened recently and we decided to try their food. We were very happy with our decision. They have great food! Although they advertise as a Korean BBQ place they have a lot of Korean specialties. From Dim Sum, Korean specialties like sesame chicken, pepper steak, Kim-chi burgers, Mongolian beef and spare ribs, two types of duck entrees. BBQ bowls, Wok entrees and fried rice and noodles. Best of all great Kim-Chi! It had been a long time since I had Kim-Chi and I was super happy with the side order I got. Next time Iāll have to order two! If your a fan of Korean food or just what to try something new, I highly recommend Kimchi Grill. Their place is small, but quaint and their takeout is fast. Our order was ready in fifteen minutes. They were very friendly and the food is excellent. Do yourself a favor and try the Kimchi...
