My husband and I came to Fernandez the Bull very soon after it first opened 1 year ago, and has quickly become our favorite! I can't decide if I love the food or the people that run it better, and they are both fantastic. Each time we come, we are greeted with a warmth like relatives coming home for dinner, with all the comfort, flavors, and care of deliciously and proudly prepared foods. With so many visits, it's hard to choose a favorite dish, but I can tell you that we have worked our way around the menu extensively and keep coming back for more. The dish that is my absolute guilty pleasure is the Yuca Rellena which I have to get every time! It had a nice crust and is soft and fluffy on the inside and is not greasy AT ALL!. I had the surf and turf and the steak was so well prepared and cooked, which can be tricky on thinner cuts. This was beautifully charred on the outside and soft and rare on the inside and bursting with flavors! The shrimp were a good size, fresh, and properly cooked that still maintained it's snap. And I basically ordered bread just to shamelessly eat spoon fulls of the chimichuri! My husband had the Shrimp and Scallops and said he wanted to pick up the dish and drink the broth! Haha We love to eat at the beautiful bar that has comfortable seats, good space, and plenty of attention. The drinks are well made with quality ingredients and great ice! There are also sizable booth seating and table in the dining area, which are also well spaced so you never feel cramped in. There are often talented musicians playing at the correct volume for enjoyment that you can talk over and still hear each other which is so often a problem in many places.
There's a great professional attention to the details of creating and running an elevated classic yet still comfortable restaurant that makes it great for a date night and your "go to" for a dressy...

Read moreJust eh.... this was our third time here and the live music is so loud in this small space that you cannot even have a conversation. There was a group of drunk ladies at the bar that was singing along and it was so annoying. The drinks are way overpriced. The server forgot to bring our salads. The chicken was so overcooked that it was dry and hard to cut. The black beans were like a watery out of a can soup. I really want to like this place, but I just don't. It's way too loud and the food is subpar. We eat out a lot and I really wanted to like this place, because it's easy to get a table, but it just fails to deliver. Now I understand why it's easy to get a table here... the manager was rude and said to my husband, " Sweetie, the chicken in this dish is supposed to be dry." It was just an unpleasant experience. It's so hard to get a table at nice restaurants here during season, but don't settle for this place. Will not be returning. I've had much better Cuban food at other...
