We decided to give this place a try after a friend recommended it. So I stopped in and ordered take out for my family. Both employees were super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. It only took about 10 minutes to bring my order out. While I was waiting, I looked around at the cool decor. It's Texas themed with lots of antiques. The front window display is really nice. The food has a lot to be desired. I ordered a family platter with a rack of ribs and Texas pit bits, which is pieces of ham, pork, brisket, rib tips and 1/4 of a chicken, plus 2 large sides and 8 pieces of Texas toast. The toast was very good. Everything else was way overcooked and tough. We couldn't even bite into the rib tips and there was small pieces of bone. There was about 2 bites of brisket and the edges were very dry; the chicken was still very pink; the pork was very dry also, and the rack of ribs were burnt and tough. My dogs did love the rib bones though, and my family liked the potato salad. I got several kinds of their BBQ sauce, none of which we liked. The baked beans looked like Campbell's pork and beans so I added some Sweet Baby Ray's that I had at home to make them mediocre. I also used my own sauce on the meat, but it didn't help any. I feel we wasted $42 and we definitely won't be going back...
Read moreWe stopped in last night for dinner 12/20/21. I have to say it was absolutely terrible. I’m not into writing reviews ever but this was bad enough to warn others. First off our server had no drive or personality whatsoever, most of our first choice food items were out of stock. Nothing saying that anywhere. You find out when you try to order items. So our second choices were spareribs, brisket for the adults and a sloppy Jimmy and hot dog for the kids. Everything including the hot dog looked extremely old. Ribs were inedible. Extremely tough and burnt. Literally couldn’t chew them. Brisket had zero flavor and looked tasted old also. I made sure not to make a scene when I sent the ribs back as the tester aunt was full of people. All that was said was “oh sorry you didn’t like them”. Nothing more. After all of that there was no credit for inedible food. Just a $60 bill for food that couldn’t be eaten. Fast forward to this morning and my house is sick. Everyone has stomach cramping and intestinal issues. Definitely would not recommend this place ever! Extremely dissatisfied. I even asked if they were charging for those ribs. No offer to do anything, just a “yeah”. Jimmy, you received the last dollars you will ever see from my household....
Read moreMost all of my experiences at Jimmy's have been great. There has been a few times I've gone in that Jimmy wasn't cooking and the brisket was dry but that has been my worst experience until tonight(6/4/22 8:00P.M.) I placed an order over the phone for to go and the waitress was great. The waitress knew there wasn't enough ham for an adult ham dinner but wanted to ask the cook if there was enough for a kids ham sandwich, in which i had asked for. Even though the phone was muffled I could hear her ask and the cook clear as day snapped at her that they were all out. I simple "no" would have sufficed and hearing her get snapped at like that made me consider if my money could be better spent elsewhere. Needless to say after that, both waitresses were tipped for having to put up with that. If having one table and one take out order is too much to handle for a cook, then maybe it's time to send them down the line. Great...
