Taco John's — Restaurant in Boone

This place is typically a disappointment. I would never go again, except the nearest drive through taco place is in Ames, 17 miles away. 100% of the time, things like taco sauce never make it into the bad, even when the clerk asks what I want, hot or mild sauce. I get home, no sauce. I get home, the pork carnita has been double wrapped in soft shell taco, instead of the one thicker quesadilla. I don't know if they ran out, were lazy, or just decided not to do a proper job. Other times I have ordered items that are supposed to come with dips, like the cheese dip for mexi rolls. Last 3 times, no cheese dip. So basically, if you are in too much of a hurry to go elsewhere, and you don't mind major hit and misses that leave you with some mexican food, but probably not what you ordered exactly, then this taco johns is the place to go...

Came in 3/23/22 and service was great, and the food was fresh & tasted great! Staff did table visits to make sure everyone was taken care of and were enjoying their meals (you don't get this often at a fast food establishments- was awesome to see, we felt very well taken care of and like they cared about our dining experience!!) I was also impressed with how well the staff were working together and communicating with one another and not just the customers! Will definitely be back to this location based on all the awesome work, food and dining...

Got a combo. Asked for soft shell instead of hard due to tooth problems. Guy looked at me like I was crazy then said sorry, cant do that, don't know how just very rude 😤 Food... wife's burrito had enough onions for like 5 different things.
