W J's — Restaurant in Boonville

I’m sure the bartender was the owner he seemed very nice even took someone a free appetizer . I’m sure they were locals . Anyways it took us over 30 minutes for us to get our food. I got the nachos paid the extra dollar for the steak had about five or six little pieces of steak of my small little nachos more onions then anything , husband had sandwich and fries which were fine . We got tickled because the waitress brought my husband some catch-up for his fries and there was just little bit of catchup . Not enough for even a few frys. We looked at the other tables and saw they had plenty. Waitress never came back to see if we needed any more catch up the Other waitress actually gave us our bill and ask us if we want to desert. We didn’t want to wait on the waitress that we never saw that took our order. We left a 15% tip just because. Maybe she was new but My mistake that I told my husband it had great reviews that we just had to go try it out I’ll never live it down and we won’t ever be back. Hate to give a bad review, the owner seems to try any make everyone feel seen. It was little to late. Again sorry for the review but maybe it will let you staff know they need to ck back at the table. In the waitresses defense I did see an old man smack Our waitress on the butt. Come to think of it I didn’t see her after I saw that all men do that so it could’ve been just enough to upset her and why we didn’t see her later . This restaurant is amazing - great food , service and prices. I took my husband here for his birthday since we were going to the Boonville casino from the lake. He has stopped ordering steaks when we go out unless we are going to a very expensive steak house. He “ends up disappointed and angry”. The waitress encouraged him to give the steak a try. He was extremely happy with his steak. Every thing we ordered was delicious. We had shrimp cocktail, salad, soup, grilled sushi-quality tuna, steak a cocktail, and a chocolate dessert. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. Brad (the owner) even picked fresh mint for my drink. If we had this meal in Kansas City the price would have been double and I most likely would not like something they served. I loved everything! We will be back. It is worth the drive. We searched Yelp for the nicest restaurant in Boonville, and this was it. Hannah served us (among other very young servers) but she did fine. I had the Flat Iron Salad (grilled steak, cheese and other basic salad ingredients). The steak was good but wish it would have been a little more tender. I didn't care for its dill horseradish dressing, but Hannah brought me their poppyseed dressing which was delicious--house made and onion based.
