As a fine East Coast Native from the continental United States, I have advocated well for the consumption of nutrients on trips to New Jersey at their distinct Factory Built Diners dating back to the post World War II creation of the contemporary Factory built diners in the Truman Administration, which tend to also be a departure from the 1950s style of Diner that made a Revival in the United States in the Nixon Administration, recently, I had a gracious opportunity to visit one of these Factory Built Diners on a recent visit to Bordentown to see my uncle and cousin from Edison, New Jersey.
Despite this being my first visit to the Town and Country Diner in Bordentown, the environment appeared similar to that of other Diners I have been in, with rystic fixtures, booths and vibrant round tables all surrounding the bar area of the respective establishment, when I proceeded to enter into the central dining area, I was also met with an extensive 200 item menu that rivaled the Edison Diner's massive menu from June of 2023, and quick service. I proceeded to order the Chicken Quesadilla alongside Frdnch Fries for an incentive side for only $2 USD, a perpetual addition to a meal lacking proper diversity, which I found glorious and a meal worth the 25 minute wait for, in addition, following the payment for the meal, I also ordered a slice of Oreo Cake, a hefty addition that I split with the other individual alongside me from my side of the 5 person party that was more than just a $14 investment, but a culturally unique experience in the process, enjoying every final bite of the cake.
Overall, if I were to ever return to this respective Bordentown Diner, I will gladly return if I am ever prevalent in the greater area, and even though they did not have Henry Heinz Ketchup, the experience...
Read moreA very large menu, so there's plenty to choose from. Thing is, you could spend a great deal of time going through the many choices available before making a selection. Food is good, and wait time for service and reception of order is acceptable. Depending on the size of your order, you may have leftovers to take home. So, you could make a second meal out of it!
*Only thing was, there something in the parking lot which appeared a bit odd. While we were leaving, we noticed a car parked in a handicapped spot with the drivers side door open. At first I thought maybe someone was sitting there, waiting for someone or about to go into the restaurant or leave; however when driving away I noticed the car was empty. No one was inside. It was a maroon-deep red Nissan Altima. It's possible someone was having car trouble or something, but to just walk off and leave the door wide open and the car totally unattended was a truly bad decision. We decided to go, thinking whomever owned the car would be back momentarily, because honestly, who goes off and leaves the driver door open on their car. We stopped at a nearby Wawa to get gas, and passed the Town and Country diner a second time on our way back to PA, the Nissan was still there, door still open, still no one in sight. Since this isn't our car and we don't know who owns it, we didn't dare touch it. Otherwise one of us would've closed the door at least. The time it took us to get to Wawa, get the gas, pay, and swing back around took about 18-20 minutes (give or take) had passed. It concerned and confused us. We hope there was nothing seriously wrong and to whoevers that car was, bad idea to stroll away and leave your door open. It's an unspoken invitation to have the car stolen, or something inside which may be of value. I really hope you...
Read morePlaced a To Go order around 12:30pm. We ordered 2 large chicken orzo soups, 1 small cream of chicken soup, a chicken quesadilla, a chicken blt club with onion rings instead of fries, and a honey Dijon chicken wrap with a baked potato instead of fries. When we went in to pick up our order we told the lady at the podium because there were customers at the register. She didn't know what to do and sent us to wait in line at the register. When it was our turn the lady asked if we wanted to pay before or after we got the food. We paid before. She then proceeded to tell us to go to the end of the bakery counter to wait because she didn't seem to know what to do either. We waited at the counter for our order. During this time, 3 different people asked us if we needed help, including the woman that was standing at the podium. When our order came out we turned to leave, but a woman with a big tray of food was coming around the counter from kitchen. We tried to move to let her pass. A server taking an order at the table behind where we were standing said to us in a nasty tone, "you shouldn't be standing there". She's lucky I chose to ignore her or there would have been a scene. At home, we opened the food, and the chicken blt club was a turkey blt club. It came with fries, which weren't cooked completely. I got the onions rings...all 4 of them. There were no crackers for the soup and no butter and sour cream for the baked potato. But, we didn't get syrup and creamer in our bag. Workers were very confused today and not in the greatest of moods. I picked up a To Go order last week. Totally different experience with the employees I encountered then. The woman at the podium and the man at the register knew exactly what was going on and where to have people wait. Today,...
