I am a hardcore fan of Mexican food and have been visiting Mexican restaurants for the past 20 years or so. I can vouch for the fact that this is one of the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever visited. The restaurant ambience is fair. The tables were small for 4. Thats another con. The food is expensive and does not have the level of quality that is expected from such a high cost restaurant. It doesn't even have any flavor. I ordered a fajita chicken. The cost of it was 21$ which is at a very high premium. So the expectation of it was high too. Waited for like 30 minutes or so even when there was only 2 other tables had customers. Finally they bought one fajita. It was bland, didn't have the kind of Mexican flavor that is expected usually. Just some onions, pieces of chicken breast cut. Photo attached. The quantity was very low. No guacamole, sour cream etc. I got only some lettuce salad and very little rice. For 21$, it was very disappointing quality. On top of all this, this is one such restaurant that I have ever come across where they charge 4% extra for using Credit cards. Very strange. I won't recommend this restaurant and I will never forget this place, and I can say with certainty that I will not be returning.

This was my first time trying Nicky's. I have passed them all over the Shreveport area but have avoided trying them for the bad reviews. The restaurant is quite large. I was seated quickly and the chips & salsa were brought right out. The chips are a thicker yellow corn variety and the salsa is of quite a thin consistency. The salsa had some kick but was lacking in flavor. The isn't the place I would go if I was craving chips & salsa. I ate here at lunch and tried the Crawfish Enchiladas. I knew if I didn't try them, I would wish I had of. These did not disappoint. Very flavorful and yummy. Kinda like enchiladas etouffée. The only thing I would change is there sauce on top was kinda lukewarm and needed to be hotter. The rice was ok but not spectacular. One unexpected highlight of the meal was the salad. The dressing for it was incredible. The waitress who has been there many years was a delight. She was informative and personable. My biggest issue came at the end when I saw they were adding 4% to anyone who uses a payment method other than cash. That alone will probably keep me from going back.

The food at Nicky's is always delicious. The service at this location in particular is super slow. Everytime I've eaten here, it took longer than normal to get all the food out to the table. Also, they struggle with the concept of vegetarian food. I attempted to order the lunch fajitas with just vegetables, no meat. When I opened the box I found that rather than giving me extra veggies to make up for lack of meat, they had just left out the meat and given me a normal portion of veggies. I understand that lunch portions are naturally smaller than dinner portions, but what I was given was a few potatoes, with 3 onions and a single green pepper. That would have been ok with some chicken or beef to fill it out, but I don't eat meat. So I wish they would make some more veggie friendly menu options.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Nicky's Mexican Restaurant, and I must say it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The restaurant surpassed my expectations in every aspect, from the delicious food to the impeccable service provided. Nicky's Mexican Restaurant truly knows how to create a memorable dining experience.

Let's start with the star of the show—the chicken enchiladas. They were absolutely fantastic! The flavors were rich and authentic, and the chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned. Every bite was a delight, and I found myself savoring each mouthful.

The service at Nicky's was truly top-notch. Although I can't recall the name of our server, I want to acknowledge his exceptional attentiveness. He was always there when we needed him, ensuring that our beverage glasses were never below half full. It's the little details like this that make a dining experience memorable. Additionally, our chips and salsa were continuously replenished, never letting us run out. This level of attentiveness and care made us feel valued and well taken care of throughout our meal.

The atmosphere at Nicky's Mexican Restaurant was charming and inviting. The restaurant had a quaint, colorful, yet cozy feel, creating a comfortable and enjoyable ambiance. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. Despite the busy evening, the service was fast and efficient, allowing us to enjoy our meal without any unnecessary delays.

The food, service, and atmosphere all came together to create a truly delightful dining experience at Nicky's Mexican Restaurant. It's evident that the restaurant takes pride in providing high-quality dishes and ensuring customer satisfaction. Whether you're looking for a quick and satisfying lunch or a memorable dinner with friends and family, Nicky's Mexican Restaurant is an excellent choice.

I highly recommend Nicky's Mexican Restaurant to anyone who appreciates delicious Mexican cuisine and exceptional service. Whether you're a fan of enchiladas or eager to explore other menu options, you won't be disappointed. I look forward to returning to Nicky's Mexican Restaurant soon to indulge in their flavorful dishes and enjoy their impeccable service once again.

Thank you, Nicky's Mexican Restaurant, for an amazing...

On Sunday, May 6th, 2019 it was suggested to me to try Nicky’s if I wanted some good Mexican food. Keep in mind, I’m from Houston and I was just visiting LA for the weekend with my husband.

Our waitress was April B. At the beginning of our visit, everything was great. The service was good, her attitude was great. She made us feel welcome. On this day, we went during happy hour and myself and my sister-in-law ordered REGULAR margaritas after I ordered a Pina Colada that I couldn’t get. Their machine was broken. Now, everywhere I’ve ever been to, Happy Hour meant half price drinks. Nicky’s apparently has a “different” happy hour. They apparently just throw however many shots they want in the drink without your knowlege and charge you for them. Which we couldn’t even drink because they were incredibly too strong. This wasn’t explained to us when they were ordered at all. Usually, you’re asked if you want a double shot or more. We weren’t.

So it comes time to pay. I notice my bill reflects two margaritas and a pina colada. My husband brought the concern to April’s attention and that’s when they wanted to tell us how their happy hour system works. So they were charging me the SHOTS I wasn’t aware that were in my drink and the drink I never received. She caught an attitude with my husband because he wasn’t ok with her attitude and threatened to call the police. So make sure when you go there, you DONT do happy hour. Because you’re actually paying twice the price. Not half Lol.

My bill was 72 dollars lol. What a great happy hour. 4 entrees two refillable teas/ soft drinks. And two happy hour margaritas....
