It was Friday, the 13th, October 2023.
We visited this restaurant because The dispensary next door is not allowed to take gift cards as a form Of payment. The card said "Debit," so The details escaped us.
After traveling from about 20 minutes away, we were unable to purchase The product. I explained that my mother would arrive & provide cash, [we would give her The gift card.] I explained that my mother would take about 0.5 hours to arrive. The clerk recommended Achilitos, & I was feeling a bit peckish, so we went to see what was available.
After deciding upon The cheapest food item, we got to The register, but The card was declined TWICE! Oh, that Saint Jerome! It absolutely had money on it, so I was frustrated, embarrassed, and confused. I did not want us to be loitering, too!
The clerk did not skip a beat. She kindly said, "I'll pay for you." She then proceeded to lean over her register and tap her 🍎 ⌚️ onto The payment pad. I was so moved. I thanked her, graciously.
Fighting back tears, I sat us down at The table that stretches along The wall facing away from The register and peers into The street, as well as The lower level Of Forest Hills Station.
The seat was right beside The utensil & napkin station. We had one very spicy taco with no agua. We still ate!
The following week, we returned to purchase a piece Of red velvet cheesecake with cash. (For The Record, it was not cheesecake, just regular cake; but it was still delicious enough to be eaten before we could snap a photo.)
The folks are kind. The service is fast. The prices are reasonable. !La comida está...
Read moreTheir food is just about 4.5 stars but their service just brings the place down. If you're ordering in person, there is a glass partician that makes it so anyone under 6 feet cannot be heard, which is a problem since you build your order on the go much like Chipotle. I have a loud voice and I have to yell for them to hear my order, to the point where they have complained about the partician preventing them from hearing as well.
The food does vary from day to day. One day the mole sauce was the best I've ever had, the next day it tasted watered down. So that's another notch against.
Finally I got fed up with the order process and tried to place an online order. They don't even have any of the options listed for items to include or exclude in your order (pick de gayo, sour cream, jalepenos, cilantro, all of which are in the store. For having such charm of authentic food, they really sell themselves short in the online order process.
They have a lot to learn about business but I hope they figure...

The food is very good, albeit a tad pricey.
One word of caution though, they go out of their way to overcharge you!! Even when you bring it to their attention, they still overcharge you. Its incredible and they do it every single time, I've been keeping track! And when you call, no one ever answers the phone, which is a great way of dodging customers.
Someone needs to investigate them. Check their reviews, I'm not the only one saying this (see Yelp). Food is still good, but don't say that I didn't warn you!
Very good place with a large variety of offerings. Gluten free options as well.
They're really clean. And if you know me, you know I don't say that lightly. The place is very well kept too. The food is outstanding and worth every penny.
If you enjoy Mexican food, this restaurant should be on your list of places to visit. Parking is at a premium but you can get lucky more...
