This right here ?! Today I had the pleasure of walking into the establishment better known as Blue Mountain Jamaican restaurant as a curious consumer and now I sit here as a faithful customer. First off, being a part of the Boston community for 27 years I have never been to a Jamaican restaurant that had such great customer service !!!! I was able to quickly order my oxtails, curry chicken, beef patties, and more. Each part of my order was met with an “of course” and a pleasant smile which automatically made me know I would be back in the near future ( tomorrow). However, what really hooked me was the actual flavor and decadence of the food. The alluring smell does not do this establishment the justice it deserves. All the food, piping hot but not scalding enough to have to toss in your mouth. Oxtails fresh off the bone as if you woke up to your West Indian mother’s Sunday best. Rice and peas that carry love in each grain. And provisions touched by the hands of God himself. From the patty to the Mac and cheese I do not ever think that my stomach has had such pleasantries when it comes to Jamaican food in this city and now both my stomach and my mind have no shadow of a doubt when we search for a quench of hunger. Blue mountain, thank you for the amazing and hospitable services, if you ever get a chance please stop by to have a life changing experience. “Out of many, one people” is the motto of Jamaica and “out of many only blue mountain” is my...
Read moreI'd been thinking about returning to Boston. This spot was at the top of my list. I'm 💔 to see that they're temporarily closed. I hope this review makes the owner(s) feel good and help them consider reopening.
I came here for breakfast and they didn't disappoint! I was full for most of the rest of the day. I ordered ackee and salt fish on coco bread, beef patty, porridge (regular; didn't have banana), and a drink. Everything was fresh and delicious. It was my first time having porridge. The more I ate, the better it tastes. I ended up taking quite a bit to go.
I was the only customer in the restaurant initially, but people started coming in as I ate. I could tell they were regulars. This restaurant was one of my best memories of Boston. I'll be checking in hopes that...
Read moreMy husband likes to get patty with coco bread and cheese from here, he doesn't like patties or coco bread in any other restaurant besides the other one - Taste of Eden. And this time I decided to tag along. Thank God I did! I love salt fish and ackee, to my great surprise this place had it in stock, unlike other restaurants that only have it for breakfast. So I ordered salt fish and ackee on coco bread - tell you what, this is the most genius thing anyone could've came up with! I liked the taste, it wasn't watery or anything, mildly spicy, a great blend! Service was great, unlike many places, they actually had everything they list on the menu. Maybe it's too much to ask, but could you also make grilled jerk chicken sandwiches on the coco bread? I've been...
