Just had the worst experience at ihop in Brighton 4th Avenue. Walked in with family of 5 at 7:30am. Place was NOT busy, 4 other tables eating. We stood and waited to be seated while waitresses walked by, stood and talked to others, chatted with a table of customers about the weather, when I finally had to ask if this was self seating? I was told “No, you’ll have to wait. Pretty sure no restaurant is self seating anywhere anymore”. We waited another 5minutes or more. Then we were seated, where we waited for a waitress for about 10minutes to ask if we wanted a drink. Then another 15min to order. 4 other patrons came in, were promptly seated, served drinks and given menus before we were even spoke too. When our food finally arrived it was cold. Not just luke warm, cold as in from the refrigerator. I couldn’t eat any of my meal. Wasn’t about to ask for it to be warmed up from fear they would spit in my food or worse. The waitresses and staff were rude at best. We were the ONLY Caucasian’s in the restaurant. And the only patrons treated this way. Where we normally tip the amount of our meal or better, we left a mere a 10% for their behavior, their rudeness, and purposefully cold food served to us. As my daughter was leaving the table a server walked by her and pushed into her to get around her, knocking her off balance and into the table so abruptly that a water glass tipped over. No I’m sorry, excuse me, or words whatsoever. We were kind, we never complained about our meal, the lack of service, or treatment while we were there. When my husband paid the bill he explained he was only leaving a tip of 10% for a truly poor experience. We will never return. We will spread the word about our horrible experience. We did not eat our food, took to-go boxes of our entire meals, and will give them...
Read moreI will preface this by saying we have been coming here occasionally for years and the service has always been average, which is expected for an IHOP. WE DO NOT EXPECT GREAT FOOD OR SERVICE. EXPECTATIONS ARE LOW. But tonight was the absolute worst dining experience we have encountered. Two tables on either side of us were seated after us, yet received their food and paid/left before we even got our food. Three of four people in our group received their food and then a woman who was not our server came by to ask how everything was. It wasn't great because we were missing a meal. When my husband expressed his frustration, she told him he needed to adjust his attitude and walked away. When our server finally came over with the missing meal, we told her we were dissatisfied and she didn't want to hear it, blaming it on a larger party even though all other tables around us were able to order and receive food before us. My husband expressed his frustration again and commented about the other server to which our server said "she's my mom and no way did she say that". Then walked away. We ate and would have paid out of obligation and knowing people need to make a living if our server brought the check. But instead I watched as she sat on the lap of some guy until she finally came over to tell us we didn't have to pay but that my husband better not talk to anyone rudely again, stating it was his fault for having a bad attitude, not theirs for taking an hour and a half to serve a meal. She mentioned working at this IHOP for ten years as if that means she's not capable of providing bad service. We won't...
Read moreI'm changing my review. yes, it's the same ol' dirty spoon restaurant I grew up eating at. and YES! The watery coffee I just was served is EXACTLY what I drove here at 4:30 am to get. I'm waiting now to see what I might get from the kitchen. I mean, I ordered the quintessential "split-decicion" breakfast plate. (double bacon, no sausage). IM SURE ILL GET SAUSAGE anyway. 🤷🏻♂️). my server is giving me a, "what the hell do you want single white dude" kinda attitude. HE,. (which doesn't matter really, it's just my memory is of off-the-boat Irish girls (or guys) from the 80's and 90's.). I'm sitting in reo right now. hey, Brazilians are great people, period. I've been pleasantly surprised by how hospitable they can be... ONCE THEY GET OVER THEIR LOOKING DOWN AT YOU FOR BEING AMERICAN. again, once the "front" is dropped, it's love and happiness. so, we'll see. they may be trying to get the cooks to poison my food as I type. but the kitchen, is MEXICAN!! Which means, my food is safe and gonna be great! 'Cause Mexicans do stuff RIGHT! TE RESPETO MUCHO MI AMIGOS!👍👍 OK, FOOD IS HERE AND LOOKS GREAT! stop reading this and judging my thoughts. this is MY review, and as seen by the sheer number of "un-solicited" views by total strangers of my other reviews, I'm confident that this one will be received as it should. as simple and truthful. that's all I want. buon appetito! ...
