Hands down best video store ever. awesome selection--much better than redbox and Netflix, plus the guy who runs the store is really cool and weird. Also he does weekly movie screenings which are amazing. Basically a regulation movie theater compressed into 350 sq ft. This is the kind of place you want in your neighborhood and should totally support if you live around here. It's maybe a bit expensive unless you do a 6 month to 1 year membership, but at that point it becomes a little more than Netflix, but you get to go to all of the weekly screenings with a friend for free in addition to renting as many movies as you want each month, which is a great deal.
Side note, this place is way under the radar for the kind of awesomeness it offers. I didn't find out it existed until almost a year after I moved into the neighborhood. This is the kind of place that should be getting more visibility than it is. Unless it wants to be an under the radar place. Either way, it's filling a niche that is super endangered (small experimental theaters and movie rental places), and there's literally nothing like it as far as I'm aware in...

Pourover coffees, which are almost impossible to find in most "cafes" or "coffee shops" in Boston, are perfectly made by anyone in the crew. Kevin is not just the owner of the video store, he is a master of coffee. He roasts his own line of coffee with his experience and heart and it shows in every cup he makes for his customers. He, and his crew (special S/O to Casey and Zak), always remember all their regulars' orders and make them feel welcomed. No matter how busy they are, they always showed utmost respect and high level of professionalism through and through. This is a local business that is worth supporting for many years to come. I am so lucky to be living within walking distance to their shop to be able to enjoy this almost everyday...
Read moreA hidden gem. Little coffee shop has become a community staple for a lot of people, and their movie rental/memberships are a really cool touch. My main reason for leaving this review though is that this shop roasts all their coffee in-house (I believe), and they do a fine job of it. I'm, very unfortunately, one of those people who can't do caffeine, and so I'm stuck with all of the normal bitter and awful decaf aftertastes. The Vu and their team makes some of the best decaf coffee I've been able to find anywhere. It's smooth, flavorful, and doesn't slap you in the face with notes of pennies and formaldehyde. So I'd just like to extend a heartfelt 'thanks' to the Vu. I live right down the road, so it has been wonderful to get some good coffee and enjoy the morning routine rather than dread the beverage, or opt to skip...
