They continue to get worse and worse every year :/ 2-3 years ago I would have given them 4-5 stars, but things keep getting worse and worse and worse.
The past 3-4 times I’ve gone by 5-15 minutes before closing they have already been fully shut down lights off nobody home.
Also, the English here is very poor... and makes ordering difficult. About 60-70% of the time (no sarcasm!) I order the $2.99 french fries I try to make it as clear as possible I want those and not their more expensive greek fries, but I am given those anyway. “Can I get the $2.99 french fries with no topping please? Not the more expensive greek fries with the topping” - I don’t know how I can be more clear than that? I even make yes/no head gestures 😡
Adding to all of this, the quality of their gyros has gone down noticeably in the past year - sometimes cold meat, sometimes dry/hard - they used to be much much better. Occasionally they do still make good quality gyros though if you luck out (or come in earlier in the day).
Sad to see this place continuing to slowly go downhill, they used to be hands down the best greek place around and there aren’t many alternatives.
Still, a good choice if you can go in the middle of the day or in the morning while their food is fresher..... and if you can make your order known successfully.
Waiting for the day Mr. Gyros adds a location somewhere in the area (they have a food truck at the local college from 3PM-6PM on Tuesdays most weeks -...
Read moreGot the combo beef+lamb gyro, fried and a drink and it rang up at just under $12. The gyro was loaded with meat (maybe even overloaded), but the star of that show was the fresh tomato and crisp lettuce. Even though the tzatziki was distributed unevenly, the clean flavors shone through. The crinkle cut fries were plentiful, hot and addicting. Could not finish it all, so I confess to tossing about 1/4 of them. Service was super quick, but parking here was fine when I arrived just after noon, but challenging when I left at about 12:30. A better assortment of sugar-free drinks could...
Read moreI have some doubts about the authenticity of the flavors (my "arabic" chicken schwarma tasted like a honey mustard chicken salad wrap, as in, it is served in a tortilla), but the flavors are very good, and hey, what do I know; it's a small culinary world...
My partner got the falafel plate; he was happy with the falafel but we both noticed that the hummus on the side was mostly salty and cold, without too many other distinguishing characteristics.
Not the world's fastest service, but very friendly. Be careful with the chili garlic sauce bottle -- it sometimes gets jammed and...
