At Just BE Kitchen, you walk in and get hit with something familiar: real food. It’s not trying to be anything other than what it is—straightforward, flavorful, and crafted in a way that makes you feel like someone finally got it right. I’ve eaten my way through the menu more times than I can count—buffalo chicken wrap, breakfast quesadilla with sweet potato hash, chicken and dumplings for lunch and dinner. I’ve been going to their original downtown Denver location for years, and not once have I had a bad experience or a bad bite. It’s all clean, it’s all satisfying, and not once do you feel like something’s been left out.
I’ve taken their chicken Caesar salad and made it my own, turning it into a wrap with their homemade almond flour tortillas. No pickled onions for me, just the essentials. It’s exactly what I need it to be—full of flavor, balanced, and without any pretense. You eat, and you feel good. Simple as that.
And here’s the thing—it’s all grain-free and gluten-free, but you’d never know it. Not because they’re hiding it, but because it doesn’t matter. You don’t miss a thing, consciously or subconsciously. You leave satisfied, like you ate exactly what you wanted, and your body thanks you for it.
They’ve got this thing called JBK Gatorade—it’s clean, refreshing, and I’ve been making my own version at home since. That’s the thing about Just BE Kitchen: it doesn’t just feed you, it sticks with you. You don’t walk out of there thinking about what you couldn’t have—you walk out feeling like you ate exactly what you wanted.
The desserts—brownies and cookies—are as they should be: rich without overindulging. They finish the meal the way a meal should end, leaving you content, not heavy.
If Hemingway had written about food instead of boxing and bulls, he’d have said: The food is good. It is simple. You eat it, and it fills you the way it’s supposed to. You could eat here every day, and it would always be enough. That’s Just BE Kitchen—food that’s honest, filling, and leaves you better than when...
Read moreI was excited to try this place and ended up being gravely disappointed. I feel Just BE had a great opportunity to serve a market that isn't being nourished much in Boulder and.... it doesnt hit the mark. We got the DDD Sampler, Breakfast Burrito, and Buffalo Cauliflower. I wouldn't get any of these again even as a gift (truly).
More details? The chicken dumplings are not dumplings its basically diced chicken with broth and something that felt like a potato texture but wasnt (i think? my partner and i couldnt eat it) ...and it was without salt or seasoning so pretty bland.
The Pork Green Chilli thing was super salty and sour. I felt it land in my belly pretty acidic and I couldn't finish it.
The tortillas are thick which give a doughy-like/undercooked experience. I'm a gluten free mexican so maybe i just know my torillas well? they were unsatisfactory.
Buffalo Cauliflower was spicy and not Buffalo-y. It was not crispy at all, more like tossed Cauliflower in sticky orange sauce... not baked not fried just plain ole cauliflower. The ranch had wayyy to much of a coconut milk flavor... very weird.
The breakfast burrito was decent but just because it's in comparison to the other things. It was very basic.
Also as a parting note, we wanted to try the burger but could not justify paying $21 for a burger that looks veryyy basic in their advertising photo #facepalm. (Compared to wild pastures that serves an excellent burger with similar healthy ingredients it doesn't make sense).
I truly hope they make changes soon for the health conscious community around town and the longevity of the...

It is so great to have a place that cares about inflammatory foods closer to home (and I don't have to cook from scratch). I have been on the autoimmune protocol diet for over 8 months now (am in the reintro phase) and it's great to see food options on menus that are dairy free and egg free. And having confidence in the ingredients list or crosscontaminatio n.
The dishes we had (Passion vegetable curry chicken and Rot buffalo chicken wrap) were sized for more than we could eat and packed our leftovers to go. The curry seemed spicier than I expected, but I have not had a lot of spices in the last months, so it's possible it's just my reaction.
The desserts look just like the traditional recipes. Yes, some dishes may not look or taste like the originals, but this is food for those that actually need it free of allergens. So I think the reviews about consistency and taste don't have a place here - have you tried making these at home?
Prices were decent for Boulder and we also purchased a brownie mix bag to make at home (mine will be an egg free version).
Staff was attentive, friendly and served us some brownie bites while we were pondering our choices.
Will...
