Terrible experience at this place. Would absolutely never even go near again. Rude staff that was on a power trip. I will never be taking my friends here ever again.

Edit: Here's reasoning for the 1-star review: Tried to go here on a night hanging with friends. Three bouncers checked IDs at the top of the stairs, as usual.

As usual, I went down the stairs after being admitted, and I was very surprised when four more bouncers asked to check IDs at the bottom of the stairs. I asked them why they needed to check IDs again after I had already been checked. I didn't refuse -- I was just confused in the moment.

These bouncers said the guys at the top of the stairs "don't work for us" and that I "must've gotten pranked." If this was really true, and I doubt it was, why would they let random people stand at their entrance with flashlights checking IDs?

At this point, I was still confused, and one bouncer decided to shove me up the stairs, telling me to get out for "refusing" to show my ID. In this altercation, I tripped and lost my shoe. I was never physical in return. Again, I wasn't refusing to show my ID, I was extremely confused with the sequence of events.

Even once I was outside the bar on a public sidewalk, this bouncer continued to shove me and yell at me. I was never physical in return, and I was off of the property.

The situation was escalated by employees when it didn't need to be. It was just a misunderstanding (and poor management), but it never once needed to be physical. As I said before, it was just employees on...

Have to say, the bartenders were awesome. Fast, attentive service. Honestly some of the best bartending I've seen. I'm giving it a 1 star because of the management. We were playing a final game of air hockey, that we'd paid for, when the clock struck 2am. A bouncer asked us to leave which we agreed to do, as another bouncer comes literally screaming in our faces to leave. I understand he was probably heated from a previous confrontation, but dude, this is your job. I've been to countless bars where people have been kicked out, and I've never been screamed at like this wacko. To make matters worse, three other bouncers witnessed what was happening and stood by their weak employees actions. We tried talking to the "manager bouncer" as we were leaving about the matter and he was equally not as interested to hear anything wrong that his "team" could have committed. Needless to say, I have no desire to come here again. It was especially sad to have brought out-of-state friends here to be treated as they were. In fact, I'm going to make an effort to not come here again. I couldn't believe the lunacy of the bouncers who all seemed to have been on the same...

2021, Update: The thing I missed the most during the pandemic was most definitely shaking a leg and getting my groove on. I’m so so happy Press Play is back open and have been having a blast dancing the night away with friends these past few weekends.

There are new games, new drinks, new staff, and new treats (pizza!).

Definitely drop in for post work happy hour or to shake off the workweek on the dance floor.

2017: I've been frequenting this space since it was 'Round Midnight. I've found that it's always a good place to wind down with some arcade games and a definite go-to on the nights you are aching to shake a leg.

Since it's been taken over by new ownership the space has seen many improvements including the addition of lots of great games (ski-ball, Big Buck Hunter, pinball, etc.) and two lovely pool tables.

Earlier in the night yummy Italian fare from the establishment above is available. The bar staff are attentive and friendly and there are frequent nights where there are specials offered on drinks.

Bottom line: if you are in Boulder and would like to challenge some friends to a fun arcade game or dance till the cows come home this...

Ton of fun at this place that we randomly found while wondering around Boulder. Drink prices were very reasonable and a nice selection of games, from old school cabinets and pinball machines to a few newer options as well. A friend (in the first picture) and myself ended up beating The Simpson’s arcade game from the 90s for about $6 total while we were there. I highly recommend going if you are in Boulder and looking for an old school arcade.

Didn't try the food, the drinks are good and well priced. The games cost quarters but are cheap and so much fun. They have an ATM and a change machine. It's 25cents for a ping pong ball and loads of entertainment. Generally it's like a dive bar but elevated with games. Great hangout spot with friends for sure. The staff is funny and friendly. Parking is street parking or there are a couple garages close by.

Havent been in a while but this place can get pretty lit. Their drink prices and deals are decent and their games are basically endless. If you like arcade games, pinball, pool, or ping pong, this is the place. If you dont like any of these things then why are you even reading this review? Come check it out.
