HORRIBLE SERVICE and WORST dining experience ever. NOT Vegan friendly and I was nickeled and dimed for every topping on my customized veggie pizza without being told about any additional charges from a very rude and sarcastic waitress who muttered rude comments under her breath as she walked away. VEGANS BEWARE!
This was my first time ever visiting Proto's and my friends and I came by for lunch. As a vegan, I was told there wasn't any vegan friendly pizzas so I requested my own pizza with a bunch of veggies minus the cheese. I listed a few veggies that I wanted and put my order in. Our waitress Kristy came back and asked if I wanted any arugula, olives, or artichoke hearts and I said sure, why not, as long as its vegan friendly I am fine with any veggies. We received our pizzas and the food was a great, but upon receiving the check I was astounded to see that my medium sized pizza was $34 compared to my friend's medium pizza which was only $16. I was charged $1.75 per EVERY veggie that was on my pizza and charged $3.00 for arugula and ALSO another 50 cents for a side of tomato sauce that I requested when she came back and asked if we needed anything else. I felt very nickled and dimed for everything I ordered without being told about ANY of these extra charges. When I asked the waitress about the check, she never once mentioned any additional charges for each topping and was extremely rude and sarcastic and said remarks such as " what, did you expect to get a pizza with all these toppings for free?" and would mutter rude comments under her breath as she walked away. She consistently continued to argue with me and said that I should have read the menu as it was listed on there and continued to point the blame at me. In my experience as a server, servers should be fully aware of the menu and inform their customers of any additional charges. As a vegan, most restaurants that I usually go to are pretty accommodating with my diet restrictions and inform me of any extra costs. Kristy took my bill and after speaking with her sister, who apparently is also the manager, came back and said the best she could do was take off the $3.00 arugula and was very rude when she gave me the check. I even inquired about not even getting any cheese on the pizza, but still being charged for everything else? NEVER in my entire life have I ever felt so disrespected, cheated and mistreated with such horrible service. As someone who has previously been a server, I have always been trained to inform my guests of any extra charges and always do my best to make the customer happy. To avoid any further arguments and rude remarks, I simply paid the bill and my friends and I happily walked out planning to NEVER...
Read moreYES and NO!!!! I'm very happy that this establishment is now at Gunbarrel (finally another place to eat)!!! No, because my belt can't simply stretch out further!!
Came here for a quick lunch break from school. I was promptly seated, there's plenty of room and is the biggest one I've been to (compared to the Denver and North Boulder location).
I ordered a Caesar's salad and the small Proto's Pie ($6). Unlike other chains, I didn't get a chance to see if they had the lunch special available (side salad, pizza, and non-alcoholic drink $12), but wanted the Proto pie, so I didn't care. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, she did a great job! The wood oven pizza came out hot and fresh, the pizza tasted great.
However, I can't say that the Caesar salad was the best, it tasted more on the tarty side, the whole bowl had one anchovy in it, and the ciabatta-flat bread like crouton tasted a lot tougher than crispy. Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone around this area, it's worth the drive!! The pizzas never disappoint me, and the service was awesome. I may have to forgive the salad and give it another date, but for now, I'm just going to stick with...
Read moreJust moved in close by. Read the reviews so thought we would try this place out. Ordered the low rider medium pizza. And the traffic jam. And a small panini. 40 dollars. Both pizzas were mediocre at best.
The mushroom and green peppers on the traffic jm were hardly cooked. Maybe this is because of the super thin crust. My low rider pizza, was hardly filling. I ate the whole thing to feel full. And the flavors were mediocre. Again, possibly due to the short cooking time of the thin crust.
They did however, forget to give us the olive oil and balsamic that is suppose to come with the bread. Least the menu says it does. That us a HUGE pet peeve for me, and seems to be an issue with customer service lately in general.
The staff was extremely pleasant and attentive. So worth going for the atmosphere, even though i did take out.
Over all, for the price and taste. I cannot say we will ever come back. We both felt that a 5 dollar frozen truck stop pizza has as much going for it as the ones we got here. And a...
