Garcias has become a tex-mex style restaurant catering mostly toward Americans, the menu is small and only offers main courses with no lunch menu or Ala cart selections. Prices are comparable to other local restaurants but the portions are tiny in comparison. I was suspicious about how the meal portions would be as soon as I noticed the unusually thin tortilla chips that are served (think of lays potato chips). My suspicion was correct as when I recieved the Acapulco chicken, what I was served was one half of chicken breast that had been sliced in half itself (1/4 chicken breast) topped with a sweet fruity style salsa, about 1/2 cup rice, and about 1/4 cup of Julien sliced zucchini squash, this reminded me of some of the meals that are usually found on the "lite menu" at typical restaurants. The restaurant is clean and staff is good and attentive with focus on customers but the portion size is what killed the meal. Read moreSome of the best Mexican food available in Bowling Green. The entrees are a little more expensive than most of the other Mexican restaurants in town, but I think they are superior in quality and taste. Also, the portions are good as well. We've never left hungry. As an example, the Chile Relleno is delicious and enough by itself to be a meal without overeating.
Chips and salsa are better than most of the competition, as is the queso. The facility is nice and clean. The staff are friendly and attentive. The location is convenient.
Honestly, I've experienced nothing negative going here, other than a coworker complaining that it is more expensive than the others in town. If you go, which I recommend, just have the right expectation and you should have a...
Read more6/4/23 First, the location is the new one downtown by the stadium. I ordered Shrimp Cozumel Enchiladas that was not on the menu, the waitperson said she thought they could make them. I told her if they couldn't, I would order the Taco Loco. It was my favorite Garcia's plate in Campbellsville, KY which they charge $9.99. I ended up with a 6" piece of Tilapia, 2 shrimp, rice and squash veggies. This was not what I ordered but went ahead and ate it anyway. They charged $22 for it, WAY OVERPRICED. Told the waitress to tell the Manager but no adjustments were made. They also charged $3 for chips and salsa which every Mexican Restaurant I go to don't charge anything... Will not go back, I have a tuff time spending that money on that...
