My recent stay at this hotel was unfortunately very disappointing. My mom booked the room, and I strongly considered asking her to switch hotels once we saw the condition of our room — particularly the bathroom. The bathroom was noticeably unclean. I had to wear my slides in the shower because the floor looked so dirty, and there was visible grime in all the corners — including around the mirror and along the countertop. Part of the bathroom wall even appeared to be missing. The condition of the light fixture was also concerning; it wasn’t just the bulb that was broken, but the entire plastic covering. The outlet near the bed was surrounded by dirt, and after noticing so many issues, I stopped looking for more. There was also a persistent odor in the room, especially in the bathroom, that made our stay uncomfortable. A sticker on the mirror claimed rooms are cleaned every other day, but based on what we saw, I doubt that’s actually happening. The rest of the hotel appeared somewhat better maintained, but the pool was closed for the entirety of our stay. We were offered the option to use the pool at the neighboring Fairfield Inn, but it was not much better — there were visible stains or debris at the bottom, and we ultimately decided not to swim at all. To make matters worse, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and I barely slept during our visit. My mom is a loyal Hilton guest, and my brother-in-law even works for Hilton, so we had high expectations. Sadly, this experience did not meet them in any way. I took pictures because the online images were so different from what we encountered. This location definitely does not reflect the standards we’ve come to expect from Hilton. Update, Hilton manager called and said he was going to refund the expense of the pool we had to pay for because the pool was down. We have yet to receive that.

This was my first time not only in Bowling Green KY, but also at a Tru Hotel (Hilton). I truly enjoyed my stay. From the moment I arrived I knew I was in for a different experience(in a good way) I love how the hotel encourages community. The rooms are simple and to the point with amazing bath products. I love their color scheme. The bed was comfortable. They have tons of USB ports all over the room. The gym has all your needs. Even trainers/ work out routines if you need it via the computer. They also have TRX which is a huge plus for me. Their breakfast... is everything. Because they literally think of and have everything. From different types of jellies (pepper jelly, bacon jelly to name a few) to the different toppings to go on your waffle boat (yes you read that correctly a waffle boat) even almond milk. Also they had tons of snacks and drinks as well for purchase. I also liked that they had local items for sale. Picked up an amazing soap while I was there. They staff was also friendly and amazing and helpful every time I saw them. They have games and activities that you can also play downstairs. Even if you came by yourself... you are bound to make a friend. This hotel and town truly was a ray of sunshine when I visited. If you haven’t been to a Tru make sure you check this one out.

Mattress is the cheapest most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever slept on. They’re better off with a pad on the floor. Absolutely terrible. Room was filthy, and when I go to front desk, the receptionist rolls his eyes at me about me complaining about it. I say something smart to him and of course manager Travis comes up and never asks about my concerns, instead he tries and throws a bit of intimidation asking why I was being confrontation with his employee. At this point I’m talking to him about my concerns while I’m packing my stuff up, because I refuse to stay another night. Now I’m walking to my car with a few things and mumble some sly comment under my breath in front of the front desk guy and now he’s wanting to throw hands in the parking lot. I tell him I’m not the one I will knock you out. He threatened to call the cops to kick me out and I say what do you think doing as I’m packing my car, go upstairs to get the rest of my stuff, again manager Travis at the door confronting me about threatening his employee. This place is a joke. Terrible .

I seriously cannot understand the two other reviews on here. The first one was very back and forth, it didn’t make sense to me. We had no problem changing our temp in our room, my husband even complained at one point that I needed to adjust the A/C because our room was too cold.

I can’t say enough about this adorable hotel! My family and I chose to stay here on our way back from Destin, Fl to break up our trip on the way home to Ohio, plus my husband wanted to check out the Corvette Museum nearby so win-win.

The attention to detail was phenomenal to me! The room is fully equipped with multiple charging locations including USB ports, a large TV, cute luggage areas, coat hangers, mini fridge and it’s nicely spacious. I love the bathroom, I think doing a shower only was genius (because who takes a bath at a hotel? Ew).....and I am all about the little things. I love that the shower had a little foot rest area to make shaving my legs easier. I am obsessed with the soap and body wash provided called “lemon sugar” or something like that, it smells amazing and I thought it was cute how it was mounted on the wall with the squeeze bottles.

The Lobby and amenities are super cute too. Family games (my son and I played the wooden connect 4 and giant Jenga on the outside patio), charging stations throughout, a coffee bar area, little business center area and a little mini “grocery” area with misc foods and toiletries. I thought it was awesome that they used local food vendors to promote the city. We got a local ice cream, some brownie one that was delicious!

Even better, the things that are most important to me were great too. Relatively Comfy bed, spacious shower with great water pressure , good toilet (flushing) pressure and the air worked well. The room didn’t feel “moist and humid” like MANY other places I’ve stayed which means a lot to me.

I know this hotel is brand new, and wonder if we got a great rate for that reason, but I feel like if they keep things stocked, clean and keep the quality high with the great customer service we received, I think the rates could be higher.

I’m in property management, so there were a few minor things that could’ve been better, but it’s just me being me and nit-picky. The caulk in the bathroom (particularly the darker caulk) was pretty sloppy. And the fact the the shower door doesn’t have a handle on the inside to close it was a bit odd. Although it can close and be pushed open, just odd when they got the shelves and grab bar inside right. The detail that the half glass allows you to warm up the shower without getting yourself wet and the higher shower head, made up for those things to me though.

After a full nights sleep, I can say the sound proofing is lacking and the bed is a tad uncomfortable, more than I initially thought.

All in all, a great value...

Disappointing Experience at Tru Hilton...

I recently stayed at the Tru Hilton (first time at this brand of Hiltons) while on a road trip to bowlimg green Kentucky, and while I initially had high hopes for the stay, my experience ended up being quite disappointing due to poor customer service.

After spending about half an hour trying unsuccessfully to make a reservation on the Hilton app, I decided to go to the hotel directly to book. The front desk representative was lovely, and we discussed a double points room rate. She kindly went off to check us in, and everything seemed fine at the time. However, upon checking out this morning, i didnt see any notice of double points added, I was gonna resolve quicly and easily with the Am Gm, butI was told there was no manager available until later in the day.

I called later to follow up, and was connected to a front desk employee who said he couldn't assist so he connected me to GM, I think his name was Todd, but I could be wrong. He explained that he couldn’t assist me directly, but offered me 1,000 points instead. When I calmly explained the situation and asked for my double points, I was taken aback by the response. The manager claimed that due to my use of “profanity” (which was completely unfounded—I only said “pissed” once), he felt justified in reprimanding me, calling me out for something that never happened. To be spoken to in such a manner, especially as a grandmother, is deeply upsetting.

I expect Hilton to fulfill its promises, including the double points that I was entitled to. I also expect better treatment from staff, especially when I am respectful and patient throughout. I am requesting that the points be applied as originally agreed upon and that this matter be addressed appropriately. I even want my room refunded after this appalling experience with a manager, probably my children's age.

I would appreciate a formal apology from both the hotel staff involved and corporate for this situation, as well as a review of how guest interactions are handled in the future. It’s disappointing to experience such a lack of care from a brand...

2 stars because of the breakfast. Otherwise it probably would have been only 1 star. We chose this hotel because it looked new and modern. Check in was easy and the man was very nice. Got to our room and it was a bit smaller than we expected but beggars can't be choosers. Go to use the bathroom and there are hairs on the toilet. Kind of off putting but easily cleanable. Sit on the bed and realize that a, it's an old bed and bed frame or a really crappy one and b, the bed sheet is a bit dirty. I know hotels don't clean comforters after every guest but if I noticed it, they should have too. It was by the foot of the bed and we already unpacked so we didn't want to cause problems. The real issue came when we went to go to sleep. We got 3 pillows that were so flat it was like laying on nothing. So my husband got 2 and I had to scrunch up the 1 so that it was kind of thick to sleep on. The bed sucks. Period. It creaks and feels like it's breaking and the mattress is lumpy. Just not what you'd think your getting in a new hotel. The worst was the smoke alarm that's just over the bed. It flashes a bright green light every few seconds that lights the entire room up. That made falling asleep really difficult. Constant flashing. Just awful placement or bad type to buy for such a tiny room. For a new hotel the furniture (tables and bed frame) they are already scratched, dinged, and missing chunks. It's like cheap IKEA furniture. It will not be nice looking for much longer which is sad for a new place. The breakfast was amazing. So many topping options for your breakfast. Carmel, apple pie, pumpkin pie, and marshmallow fluff on top of regular syrup for your waffle. Cheese, salsas, hot sauces, and ketchup for your eggs. All different kinds of spreads and jellies for bagels. It was a nice change from a standard hotel breakfast even though it was just the addition of toppings. It made it more fun. We won't be back to this particular Tru hotel but we look forward to trying others...
