There I was, time was running out, my wife and I getting hungrier and hungrier. I knew it was only a matter of time before my wife would go over the edge and fall into the hangry void. A thought flashed into my mind of my sister in law saying "JDs is the place to get a great breakfast, baked goods, and some great home dinners." I now having to hide, the hunger monster was lurking around looking for something or someone to devour. I quietly searched for and found my phone. O no the light was giving me away. I quickly called and placed and order. Just as I hung up I could hear the almost guttural stomach growls, getting closer and closer. Timing had to be precise and I would have to be quick. I found my moment. I swiftly grabbed my keys and wallet running for the door. The monster was close and gaining. I was at the door I grab the nob. I felt it my foot slipping. the rug I forgot we got a new rug. I started to fall and at the last moment I was able to catch my balance, open the door, and get out. I closed the door and as I heard the lock click there was a hammering coming from the other side. The door would not hold long. I quickly went to my car and sped off. I walked in the quaint little shop. Relaxing but for a moment. I was greeted with a friendly smile and how many I help you today. My order was already ready. I might make it back in time. I quickly made it back home. I could hear the soft drip coming from our cats water fountain. It was too quiet. I wasn't sure we're it was or if it had excaped.I set the food down and opened it up. 2 huge prices a French toast had to be 2" thick with wonderful blackberry topping and some cream cheese stuffing with a side of whip cream and delicious syrup. The next box had a breakfast burrito that was stuffed to the brim with hash browns,cheese, bacon, eggs, and many more, served with a side of salsa. It was just in time the monster appeared when seeing the food it was almost as if a full moon had come and passed and she returned her lovely amber hair, her warm eyes, and soft voice saying "ooo what did we get" I said JDs she smiled even brighter as we dug into the wonderful meal. JDs has excellent service that is very friendly, with all the inflation going around my wife and I can still eat at JDs for 15-17$ and get full. Amazing French toast and really good breakfast burrito. Never had anything that wasn't delicious. And the staff as always been very friendly. JD’s is one of those hole in the wall places you don’t want to miss.

They are serving up all sorts of comfort foods and have delicious daily specials. I’d recommend to order ahead by phone or online, as their food is made fresh.

First thing to know is that not only do they have daily menu items, but also well stocked fridges full of pre made sides and dishes ready to be warmed up. And on top of that, there are fresh baked loaves of bread and plenty of sweet baked treats.

As for their menu items, there are wonderful options for breakfast and lunch. The other picture I put up are from when I had their fried bologna sandwich, something else you don’t want to pass up.

For this review, I had the cream cheese stuffed toast with raspberry spread and homemade whipped cream. This French toast is something you don’t want to miss. The bread is crunchy on the edges and fluffy on the inside. It is stuffed with tons of delicious cream cheese and when topped with the raspberry sauce and whipped cream, makes for so many satisfying bites.

The biscuits in gravy are also noteworthy, as a good made from scratch gravy can be hard to find, and JD’s is making some really good gravy.

I honestly can not say enough about this place! Most people that know me, or have come in contact with me, have heard me raving about JDs! I was a fan of their restaurant years ago when they were in downtown BG, then sad to see them go. But they came back! I'm so happy they have a store location, where we can enjoy their wonderful lunch creations, bakery items (my son's favorite), take-and-heat dinner items, and glorious breakfast (on Saturdays).
